Source: Science and Technology Development Center of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association

Xi Xi had a cold just right, he suddenly felt that his ears hurt, and the doctor said that he had acute otitis media after examination and prescribed ear drops. How does this medicine drop?

Ear drops are required for many common otological diseases, such as otitis externa, eczema of the external ear canal, otitis media, etc. caused by bacterial or fungal infections. In addition to using different ear drops according to the doctor's diagnosis, correctly mastering the ear drop method is also the key to treating the disease and quickly controlling the disease.

The patient lies on his side or tilts his head to one shoulder so that the auditory canal opening outside the affected ear is facing upwards. Pull the pinna to straighten the external auditory canal, drip the liquid into the lateral wall of the external auditory canal one by one, so that it flows into the deep part along the wall of the external auditory canal, and press the ear screen several times. The amount of drops is generally 2 to 4 drops each time, 2 to 3 times a day.

Some drugs need to be adjusted according to the doctor's requirements and the number of medications. If the patient drops the drug himself, the contralateral finger should be used to pull the pinna, and the same side finger should hold the drip bottle, and the above drip method can be followed.
