It took 2 years to diy the three recorders in Star Trek

Inspired by the famous Tricorder medical device in Star Trek, YouTube Channel Mangy_Dog uploaded a second-generation DIY production that is arguably more elaborate than any prop hollywood uses in the show. The YouTube channel divides the video into 3 sections, the first 2 of which are more about features, while the 3rd section is about tidbits, which describe the hardware engineering and software design of the project in more detail.

In the video, he says the entire project took more than two years to complete and ended up a bit burned out. Luckily, he persevered, and as you can see, the results were absolutely incredible. This is the second large trilogy model completed by Mangy_Dog. While this new model may look a lot like the original model, once the back panel is removed, you can really see improvements in hardware.
