The new Kunchu Expressway is divided into two sections, and the section that opens to traffic at 2:00 p.m. on January 21, 2022 is the section from the Kunming Northwest Bypass Interchange to the starting point of the Xinchu-Chuda Expressway, which opens the Gulu, Heping, Lufeng and Yipinglang toll stations.
How do Kunming's vehicles get on this new highway? Just follow the Northwest Ring Expressway to Phuket No. 1 Toll Gate to pick up the card, and go forward to the intersection of Lufeng and Chuxiong to enter the new Kunchu Expressway.
Ba Huaiqiang, deputy general manager of Yunnan Investment Company of China Railway Construction Kunlun Investment Group, said: "The main thing is to alleviate the traffic pressure of the old Kunchu Expressway, and the total length of our new Kunchu Expressway is 106 kilometers. There are three places of the new Kunchu Expressway and the original Old Kunchu Expressway that are interconnected, the first is the Northwest Ring Expressway, the second is the Wuyi Expressway, and the third is the Chuguang Expressway. ”

It is worth noting that if you take the New Kunchu Expressway from Chuxiong back to Kunming, vehicles going to the northwest urban area of Kunming can get off the highway from Phuket Toll Station 4 through the Northwest Ring Interchange to enter the northwest section of the Kunming Ring Expressway; vehicles going to Kunming North City Need to enter the northwest section of the Kunming Ring Expressway through the Northwest Ring Interchange and get off the highway from Ciba or Kowloon Toll Station.
On the afternoon of January 21, the new Chuda Expressway will also open the main line starting point to the Guangtong North Hub interchange section, the Guangtong North Hub interchange to the Guangtong South Hub interchange section, the rest of the road section will not be opened for the time being, and vehicles going to dali will need to drive to the Chuguang Expressway through the Old Chuda Expressway.
