At the meeting, the reporter learned that the first "Asian Games Journey" (RDAG Tournament) event will be officially launched in 2022, representative teams from 5 major regions across Asia will participate in the same e-sports events as the official asian games, and compete fiercely in the League of Legends, DOTA 2, FIFA Online 4, Hearthstone, Glory of Kings Asian Games version, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, Peace Elite Asian Games version, Street Fighter V and other projects. And thus the official ranking of e-sports asia in each event is generated.
It is reported that the "Asian Games Journey" (RDAG Tournament) is an official event of the Asian electronic sports project jointly initiated by the Olympic Council of Asia and the Asian Electricity Federation. Huo Qigang said that the great significance and progress of the "Asian Games Journey" event is that it will support the formation of national teams in various e-sports projects in Asian countries, which is also an important step for e-sports to enter the national comprehensive event.
It is understood that the "Asian Games Journey" event will cover multiple Asian Games cycles such as the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, the 2030 Doha Asian Games, which is not only the first special event for electronic sports in Asia that is closely integrated with the Intercontinental Games, but also the beginning of the construction of the standard of the event system in Asia, which will build a new platform for output, exchange and learning for the Asian electronic sports industry.
In addition, OCA Director General Hussein Mussalam announced the strategic partnership between OCA and Tencent. It is reported that the two sides will carry out comprehensive cooperation from traditional sports to electronic sports. In cultural exchanges, technical talent training, Asian event support, digital sports research and other aspects of cooperation, jointly promote the vigorous development of Asian sports, encourage young people throughout Asia to participate in sports activities, and promote the standardized development of the Asian e-sports industry.
Ma Xiaoyi, senior vice president of Tencent Group, said that Tencent will continue to support the promotion of sports and e-sports in Asia for a long time to come. At the same time, in the upcoming Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, Tencent will also fully support the preparation and promotion of the Asian Games e-sports projects, and work with Asian partners to jointly create an e-sports culture with Asian characteristics and promote the prosperity and development of e-sports in Asia and even the world.
