A book that comprehensively presents a magnificent picture of the history of the 100-year Winter Olympics (24th) "From Chamonix to Beijing: A Hundred Years of the Winter Olympics" will be published by the People's Publishing House on the eve of the opening of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Chinese and English versions will be available simultaneously for worldwide distribution.
The first 23 editions of the book (from the Chamonix Winter Olympics in France to the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in South Korea) were written by Mr. Geralr Sarrey, a former senior journalist of the French "Team Newspaper", and Mr. Wan shang Laudette, former president of the overtime publishing house under the French "Team Newspaper". Ms. Yang Yang, China's first Winter Olympic gold medalist and a famous short track speed skater, wrote an article for the book " Let's Meet Passionately in Beijing" . Mr. Zhao Weidong, Director of the Propaganda Department of the Organizing Committee of the Chinese Winter Olympics, led the editorial board of this book.
According to reports, this book is not only a popular science book that introduces the history of the emergence, development and evolution of the Winter Olympic Movement, but also a wonderful collection of stories about the Winter Olympic Movement. The book manuscript is composed of three parts: summary, review and story, which introduces the basic situation of the previous Winter Olympic Games, the setting of the event, the highlights and the legends in the history of the Winter Olympics. The content of each chapter is self-contained and linked, and through the selection of some characteristic and interesting people and things, a history of the development of the Winter Olympic Movement is vividly described. The content of the whole book manuscript is positive and upward, there are many inspirational stories and legends, with the main line of carrying forward tenacious struggle, unity and mutual assistance, integrity and fraternity, showing the pursuit of higher, faster, stronger and more united sportsmanship. There are many interesting chapters in the manuscript, such as "Kitzbühel Lightning" on page 94, "Legendary Champion, Women's Model" on page 110, and "Shuth – the first Winter Olympic mascot" on page 140, which make this sports book full of inspirational feelings.
