Samsung's official website leaked the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra with bangs

author:cnBeta

One of Samsung's Bixby support pages may have just revealed to us the first official look of the company's upcoming flagship tablet. The page shows a familiar-looking Samsung smartphone and a very unfamiliar-looking tablet with bangs at the top of the screen, and interestingly, Samsung had laughed at this notch design on social media when the iPhone X was first launched.

Previous reports suggested the new tablet would be dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, possibly announced as early as next month.

The images displayed on Samsung's website dovetail with unofficial renderings of the tablet released last October, images leaked in December, and details leaked from WinFuture this month. If these unofficial details are to be trusted, this Android tablet will have a 14.6-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a resolution of 2960x1848. This bang is thought to house two 12-megapixel selfie cameras, and it's not clear what the second sensor will do.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is believed to be built into Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8th generation processor, with a 11200mAh battery, up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. S Pen support is considered included, as well as an optional 5G/Wi-Fi version and two rear camera modules (a 13MP and a 6MP ultra-wide-angle camera).

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will reportedly be at the top of the lineup of three tablets, with the other two products including the Tab S8 and tab S8 Plus. All three tablets are rumored to have the same processor and support the S Pen stylus, but the S8 Plus is said to come with a smaller 12.7-inch OLED display and a 10090mAh battery, while the base S8 may only have an 11-inch LCD and 8000mAh battery.

There is no official word yet on when the new tablet lineup will appear, but it is said that the Galaxy S22 lineup will be launched on February 8, and it would not be surprising if these tablets would be launched alongside the flagship phone, although the timing of the announcement will be very different from their predecessors, the previous generation of the Galaxy Tab series was released at the end of 2020.
