Open-loop Hall current sensor is mainly used in factory transformation DC distribution system, such as power plant DC power system transformation, substation DC system transformation and transformation, communication room transformation, railway locomotive transformation and other projects, it can convert the original DC current signal of the system into a standard DC± 5V or 4-20mA output, which plays a monitoring and electrical isolation role, and can be used with multi-circuit monitoring instruments or other electrical measuring instruments. Therefore, the open-loop Hall current sensor plays a great role in the application of factory DC system because of its simple structure, convenient installation, reliable operation and other good applicability, especially in the transformation project has been a large number of applications.

Retrofit requirements for plant DC distribution systems

Factory DC distribution system is usually composed of high-frequency switching power supply and battery, which is used to provide reliable DC power supply for control, signal, relay protection and automatic devices, accident lighting, etc. in the DC system, and has high requirements for the reliability, stability and quality of its power supply. Therefore, it is urgent to adapt some DC systems that have been in service for a long time.

In addition, the DC system transformation does not stop power, engineering transformation is difficult, the use of traditional closed-mouth Hall current sensor or shunt can not be solved, so the open-loop Hall current sensor can be used to solve the DC current measurement problem, to ensure that the transformation process does not stop and safe operation.

THE ADVANTAGES OF DC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS USING OPEN-LOOP CURRENT SENSORS

In simple terms, from the perspective of retrofit cost, if you use a traditional closed-loop current sensor or shunt. In the construction, you must first disassemble the DC bus copper bar, and then install the sensor, and then reinstall the busbar to restore, and the entire installation process, at least two construction personnel are required to cooperate with the construction, and the rectification line must be blackouted with the cooperation; and if the open ring Hall sensor is used to install, only one construction worker is needed, and the construction time is expected to only take about 1/20 of the above method, and the factory power outage time can be reduced accordingly, and even on some occasions the continuous power construction and installation. Therefore, the use of open-loop current sensors is significantly more time-saving, labor-saving, and labor-saving.

Taking the DC distribution cabinet as an example, when using an open-loop current sensor, multiple DC inputs can be summarized into a current output, each circuit has a circuit breaker, fuse and other protective devices, as well as anti-reflection diodes, etc., and each voltage and current can be monitored, and remote communication can be realized. The use of eight open-loop Hall current sensors to monitor DC current is more convenient than traditional Hall installation, safer and more practical than using shunts.

In addition, in some railway locomotive modification projects, if it is required to monitor the busbar DC current without disassembling the busbar, then this situation can only be solved by using an open-loop Hall current sensor.
