The 24-year-old Olympian was just one stroke away from the leader at the start of the final round in the first race of the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour, finishing with a 1-under-par 71, four strokes behind champion Akshay Batia to tie for third place. Indian-American Batia won his first Korf International Tour title by two strokes after shooting a 65, becoming the third youngest champion on the Korn Ferry Tour. On this day, there are still 12 days before his 20th birthday.

Dou Zecheng shot his lowest 66 of the week to finish tied for 28th, while Zhang Xinjun finished tied for 51st.

Yuan's overall score this week is 278, a 10-under-par 10. In the final round, he caught three birdies on the opening five holes to maintain his competitive edge, but bogeys on the 11th and 13th holes stifled his hopes of winning the first game of the Korn Ferry Tour. He's happy with his strong start to the new season, and this year he's targeting the PGA Tour entry card.

"My goal this week is to finish in the top five because I haven't competed in many days." Yuan Yichun, who represented China at the Tokyo Olympics last summer, said.

"I hope to start here to find good momentum for the next game. I also know which parts of my game need to be improved. I used to play left, but now, I've changed to playing right to get better stability and a higher fairway rate. This week's results show that I'm on the right path. Yuan Yechun, a graduate of the University of Washington, said.

Dou Zecheng, a two-time champion on the Korn Ferry Tour, caught seven birdies on Sunday and had only one bogey to play the best of the week. In the following competitions, he hopes to improve further and challenge the victory at the beginning of the season.

"I played well on my last day and it gave me confidence in the next game. The first three rounds made me feel like it was hard to start the new season, but after this last round, I could see my form. Dou Zecheng said.

"Although I missed a couple of short birdie pushes, my kick-off and putter were good. Unlike the other three rounds, I was solid. Played a couple of great balls. "

The 2022 Korn Ferry Tour season will continue on Sunday, January 23 in the Bahamas, with the next game being the Grand Abaco Classic at Abaco Club.
