"Its main feature is that it has a long front line, and the three divisions span two places (Beijing and Zhangjiakou). Liu Shu gave the example of the "No. 2 Road" in Yanqing Division. According to reports, there are 14 sharp turns of 180 degrees on this road, and the steepest slope reaches 14 degrees, which requires rich driving experience and careful operation in the absence of snow to pass safely.
In order to accumulate experience and assess the potential risk points of these steep roads on the ground, the Transportation Department of the Winter Olympic Organizing Committee has been organizing race vehicles to conduct field surveys and training exercises in Yanqing and Zhangjiakou from 2020.
"Our vehicles have been tested on this difficult road, assessing how much risk there is in the worst case scenarios and planning what measures should be taken to keep the race running." Liu Shu said.
