In the blink of an eye, the winter vacation that children have been waiting for has arrived. Parents finally breathed a sigh of relief: "The holiday learning task is not heavy, don't worry about the progress of the child's myopia!" "In fact, the winter vacation is a watershed in the development of children's myopia." Due to the cold weather and the impact of the epidemic, outdoor activities have been greatly reduced. If coupled with the excessive use of electronic products and the increase in close-range use of eyes, it will increase the occurrence and development of myopia, so parents should not take it lightly!

Learn about these parameters first

What aspects should I pay attention to in the use of electronic products during the winter vacation?

1. The choice of video tools should adhere to the principle of "rather big than small". The order of selection is: Projection, TV, PC, Tablet, Phone.

2. Use electronic products to follow the "20-20-20" mantra. After looking at the screen for 20 minutes, look up 20 feet away, that is, 6 meters away, more than 20 seconds.

3. Adjust the position and parameters of the screen. The height remains horizontal or slightly lower in the center of the eyeball and video. The distance is 4-6 times the length of the diagonal of the electronic screen. The refresh rate of the CAT display is generally 75-85 Hz. If it is an LCD display, there is no need to adjust the refresh rate.

4. The ambient light should be suitable. When using electronics at night, you need to turn on the lights and dim the screen brightness to 30%. Screensaver wallpaper with green background can be set to relieve eye strain.

5. Limit the length of time electronic products are used. The cumulative time of online learning shall not exceed 2.5 hours per day for primary school students, not more than 20 minutes per time, and no more than 30 minutes per day for secondary school students. Reduce the use of videos outside of online learning, accumulating no more than 1 hour per day. Preschoolers are more demanding on the use of electronic screens than school-age children.

Daytime outdoors is the last word

In addition to paying attention to the use of electronic products, children should also insist on outdoor activities.

Studies have shown that "daytime outdoor activity time" is an independent protective factor to prevent the occurrence and development of myopia, and its protective effect is related to light intensity. The intensity of sunlight is tens of times higher than indoors. Under sunlight, the pupil will shrink, the depth of field will deepen, and the blur will be reduced, inhibiting the occurrence of myopia; the amount of dopamine released in the human body increases under the sun, and dopamine can inhibit the occurrence and development of myopia. Therefore, at least 2 hours of outdoor activities during the day every day, and no less than 10 hours of outdoor activities in a week, can effectively prevent myopia in adolescents. If you need to isolate at home due to epidemic prevention and control, parents should not worry, and let their children have more contact with sunlight through balconies and windows.

Eating and sleeping are about vision

Due to the arrival of the Chinese New Year, the child's diet and sleep may also be more unrestrained. Be sure to urge your child to get enough sleep. Eat less sweet and starchy foods; drink less carbonated drinks; and eat more foods rich in "lutein". Because studies have shown that diet and sleep are also closely related to myopia.
