How did Wang Mang die? In the last years of the Western Han Dynasty, the power of the imperial family declined, and the power of the DPRK was monopolized by Wang Mang. Before Wang Mang became emperor, he paid great attention to winning people's hearts and minds, behaved as a courtesy corporal, was humble and generous, and also did several good deeds that conformed to the people's hearts.

Later, Wang Mang used the power in his hands to finally succeed in declaring himself emperor. After becoming emperor, there were still many old ministers of the Han Dynasty who opposed Wang Mang's usurpation of The Han Dynasty, and in order to consolidate his rule, in addition to killing some ministers, he also carried out a reform, and the principle of his reform was based on ancient classics, known in history as "Togu Reform".
Because his restructuring did not proceed from reality, it brought great disasters to people. For example, the reform of the currency system, which has been changed 5 times in 15 years, the copper coins are minted smaller and smaller, but the face value is getting larger and larger, causing economic chaos, and the most victims are ordinary people.
In addition, Wang Mang also continued to conquest the outside world, coupled with years of famine, the people froze to death and starved to death countless. In the 10 years before Wang Mang's reform, the Western Han Dynasty had a population of nearly 60 million, and in the later period of the reform, it was less than 30 million. The people could no longer live, and finally the "Green Forest" and "Red Brow" uprisings broke out.
When Wang Mang was in danger of power, he mobilized officials and the people to cry out loudly to plead for god's blessing. The common people came to weep, to provide food, to weep and mourn, and to appoint langs, so that 5,000 people were appointed as langs. But that didn't save him from his demise. Eventually, the regime was overthrown and Wang Mang was killed.
After Wang Mang was killed, his head was sent to Wancheng and hung in the street market. People hated him for saying all the good things before the emperor, and saying that the emperor did not care about the people's lives and deaths, so they cut off his tongue and cut it up and divided it. Wang Mang's skull was treated and painted, stored in the imperial arsenal, and has been stored for more than 270 years, before it was burned down after a fire in the palace of Emperor Hui of the Western Jin Dynasty.
Wang Mang is the only emperor in Chinese history to have his tongue cut off after his death.
