From the initial assembler to the debugger, technician, and now the car commissioning expert, Lu Yicong, chief engineer of Geely Group Zhejiang Fulin Guorun Auto Parts Co., Ltd., has grown into a "technical expert" in the automotive field with his own diligent efforts.

Due to family reasons, Lu Yicong had to give up his dream of entering the university in his sophomore year of high school and leave his hometown in Chuzhou, Anhui Province, to join his aunt who was far away in Taizhou, Zhejiang. At that time, with the idea of learning a craft to support himself, he came to an auto repair shop as an apprentice. After two years of accumulated experience, Lu Yicong seized the opportunity to successfully join Geely Group.

Because he knows that he has no advantage in academic qualifications, Lu Yicong must pay several times more effort than others. In order to improve his skills and knowledge, he tirelessly consulted the master, compared skills with colleagues, dismantled the faulty car, changed the suspected parts, and learned to read the circuit drawings and the electrical schematic diagram of the whole vehicle. He also often drilled into the finished car alone to study the failure of the car, drilling for several hours.

"At that time, I was afraid that I would be fired during the probationary period, and only by practicing my skills could I gain a firm foothold." Lu Yicong recalled that in order to expand his knowledge of automobile theory, his bedside was plastered with various car schematics, and the bedside was full of various car books.

Diligence redeems stupidity. After a long period of disassembly and maintenance, Lu Yicong not only gained rich theoretical knowledge and operation experience in automobiles, but also practiced the unique ability to accurately distinguish more than 40 kinds of fault sounds by ear alone. He has won the first prize of the National Auto Assembly and Adjustment Competition, the National Automobile Assembly and Adjustment Operator Technical Expert, the "Zhejiang Vocational Skills Leader", "Zhejiang Province Ten Jianeng Craftsmen" and other honors, and was elected as a representative of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Although he has an enviable title, in Lu Yicong's view, his most essential work is still in the front-line workshop. Every morning at 7 o'clock, before it is time for work, you can see him shuttling on the production line. Lv Yicong's daily daily work, in addition to routine inspection and control of the quality of the project, but also to solve the problems in the process of vehicle delivery, bring the feedback from the market back to the workshop, and timely rectification and implementation.

Because of Lu Yicong's excellent skill level, as early as 2005, Geely Group arranged for him to serve as the deputy leader of the commissioning team, hoping to transform his personal individual ability into the skill improvement of the whole team and cultivate more high-tech talents. Relying on the platform of "Lu Yicong Skill Master Studio", he brought out more than a dozen vehicle debugging skill masters, many of whom became the "skill bearers" of the debugging team.

"After so long of contact with cars, the original dream has not changed, that is, through the unremitting efforts of our generation of young people, let China's self-produced brand cars enjoy the world's reputation." Through continuous learning, Lv Yicong has many innovative achievements, among which "transmission oil seal assembly tool" and "air conditioning and refrigeration system effect improvement device" have obtained national patents.
