Recently, more than 10 medical experts from various provinces and cities across the country gathered in Songshan Lake, Dongguan, to hold the latest review meeting of the Chinese Journal of Practical Internal Medicine, and conducted in-depth discussions on the current situation and trend of chronic disease prevention and treatment, which was the first time that the core domestic medical journals held a review meeting in Dongguan. During the review meeting, the Dongguan Diabetes Comprehensive Prevention and Control Project was praised by the participating experts.
The review meeting was hosted by the Chinese Journal of Practical Internal Medicine, which is supervised by the National Health Commission, and hosted by Guangdong Unide Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and invited many heavyweight experts in the national industry to participate, including Professor Yan Li of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Chen Lulu of Union Hospital Affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Guo Xiaohui of Peking University First Hospital, Professor Zhang Xiuwei, Director of the Department of Endocrinology of Dongguan People's Hospital, etc.
At the meeting, the experts first discussed the Dongguan Comprehensive Prevention and Control Project of Diabetes led by the Dongguan Municipal Health Bureau. "For a long time, metabolic diseases represented by diabetes have a high mortality and disability rate, which seriously affects the health of patients and brings a heavy burden to individuals, families and society, and has become a social public problem."
Participating experts and professors believe that the "Dongguan Diabetes Comprehensive Prevention and Control Project" is very pioneering, for the first time to include high-risk groups in screening and management, out of their own new way, to provide experience for China's chronic disease prevention and control. In 2020 and 2021, Dongguan was continuously included in one of the ten people's livelihood facts of the municipal government, screened nearly 250,000 people, comprehensively promoted early screening and intervention actions for hypertension and diabetes, standardized the health management of patients with chronic diseases, and improved the comprehensive level of prevention and control of chronic diseases.
According to statistics, as of the end of September 2021, Dongguan type 2 diabetes patients have managed 112,800 people, and the prevention and control of diabetes has achieved remarkable results. At the just-concluded Dongguan Two Sessions, among the ten people's livelihood facts in 2022, the early screening and intervention of chronic diseases were once again included.
