The innocent world of a madman: the K-Star Stranger

Until 2001, when Universal had been shelving the script of "K Star Stranger" without restriction. Oscar-winning Kevin Spacey paid attention to this unique film and television script early on.

In fact, Universal is also waiting, because once this script is not played well, it is bound to play a maverick story. Like the ambiguous relationship before a couple fell in love, Kevin Spacey and Universal were watching each other.

It wasn't until director Ian Softre offered to find Kevin Spacey. Kevin Spacey said, I love the character of Prot. Universal was determined to bring this story to the screen.

The innocent world of a madman: the K-Star Stranger

Kevin Spacey

Kevin Spacey won the Oscar for Best Actor for American Beauty. He is also the best candidate for the male protagonist Prot in "K Star Stranger".

The story itself is simple, that is, after a sad man goes crazy, he fantasizes about himself as an alien from the distant planet K star, coming to Earth to experience life.

Of course, there are many voices on the Internet that say that the protagonist is an alien, parasitic on Prot's body. We're not going to discuss whether he's an alien or not. After all, every work, everyone's view is different.

But in the story, Prot's idea of looking at human civilization from an alien perspective is interesting.

At the beginning of the story, Prot appears at Grand Central Terminal in New York. He came mysteriously, and according to himself, he got to Earth by means faster than the speed of light. As a result, he was quickly sent to a mental hospital by the police.

In the process of communicating with the doctors in the psychiatric hospital, Prot showed a high degree of logical rigor and scientific knowledge system. Not only did he wave the trajectory of K Lyra (which he had shown to be completely correct), but he also made a series of self-understandings of earth's politics, science, humanities, family, and so on.

And his understanding is so unique and direct to the heart. Prot said, I really don't understand how you humans have developed to the present.

In his world, society should not need to rely on laws and institutions to restrain people. Human beings need restraint because of human desires and greed.

In the story, he sees the world with angelic eyes. He understood the knots of everyone in the mental hospital, and all the patients in the mental hospital became his followers. Even the doctors, I always felt that the doctors did not play any role in Prot's treatment, but rather that Prot cured the doctor's family relationship.

And in the World of Prot Innocence, that kind of cat-like personality, angel-like smile, and acts of kindness to everyone and everything are really not something that humans can do.

So, my understanding is that if Prot is a K star, it's not about his appearance and demeanor, it's about his heart. This innocent world of madness is something that the people of the earth do not have.
