Philippe Coutinho has arrived at Aston Villa and will train with his new team-mates for the first time this morning.

Villa announced a big deal on Loan for the Brazilian on Friday, with reports that Steven Gerrard's business at the January transfer window would not end there.

Villa are now in a good position to sign Everton left-back Lucas Digne and are in "senior talks".

Coutinho's first words as a Villa player after his move to Barcelona

Philippe Coutinho revealed that after discussing a possible move to Aston Villa with Steven Gerrard, he was "very clear" about his next move after Barcelona.

The Brazil international has completed his work on loan to Villa Park until the end of the season and is said to be a permanent player for £33m.

Coutinho arrived in England this afternoon and will meet his new team-mates for the first time on Wednesday morning at Bodymoor Heath.

Speaking about his arrival, Coutinho told VillaTV: "It's a pleasure to be here; it's a great club.

"I talked a lot to the manager, Steve, and he told me about the club and his ambitions. I'm happy to be here and I hope to enjoy my football. "

Villa informed Coutinho of his latest physical condition ahead of the match against Manchester United

Philippe Coutinho has already reported to Bodymoor Heath after completing his loan spell from Spanish giants Barcelona to Aston Villa.

The Brazil international is likely to make his debut against Manchester United this weekend.

Ralph Rangnick's side will face Villa for the second time in a week, knocking out their opponents in the FA Cup on Monday night.

Steven Gerrard's side will be encouraged by Coutinho's arrival on Saturday night, and he will train with his new team-mates starting Wednesday morning.

Coutinho's arrival in England has been delayed as he has been self-isolating, but he claims he "feels good" ahead of Villa's home game against Manchester United on Saturday.

Everton received a £15m transfer request from Villa and Digne's update was revealed

Aston Villa are reportedly close to signing Everton left-back Lucas Digne, while the Merseycers are interested in buying Anwar Gazi.

If the Villa winger remains at the club after the January transfer window, he will enter the final 12 months of his current contract at the end of the season.

Ghazi's future at Villa is in doubt, with Everton now said interested in bringing the winger to Goodison Park.

The Telegraph said that although the Dutchman's contract was only 18 months left, Villa had labelled him with a price tag of £15 million.

Meanwhile, Everton's defender Dinier will join Villa this month. His transfer is "getting closer," the Telegraph reported, adding that Villa was still in talks with the Toffee tonight.

Who is Kyle Smith? Villa will beat the "biggest club in the world" to sign the defender

Aston Villa will reportedly sign high-rated Scottish wizard Kyle Smith.

Villa has reportedly agreed to sign tall defender Smith from Dundee United.

The Daily Record said Villa "has contributed to a substantial transfer fee, along with some important add-ons", which could give Dundee United £2 million.

Chelsea, Everton, Southampton and Crystal Palace are also interested in the teenager, which was previously reported to have won last week's battle for Smith.

Villa now appears to be in a good position to take Smith to Second City.

Over the past three years, owners Nassef Saveris and Wes Edens have poured millions of pounds into Villa's Academy, with Smith being the latest addition to a long list.
