The film begins with best-selling author Jesse promoting his new book at the Shakespeare's bookstore in Paris.
His new book is about a man's memories of a romantic night in Vienna nine years ago with a girl. When he was asked if the experiences in the book were related to himself, he replied that each work is a sublimation of the author's life experience and represents the author's view of the world.
At the confluence of time, he saw the girl (woman) Celine who haunted him. Twenty-three and thirty-two, what a difference there is between women of these two ages! Women are afraid of getting old, but men like the age when they can express their feelings more directly.
When they reunited nine years later, they had so much to say. So the whole film unfolds in a chattering conversation.
