I have seen such a question: I have read a lot of books, but after a long time, it seems that I will forget, so what is the purpose of reading books?
There are a lot of people who have answered, and one of the points I agree with is:
I've eaten a lot of meals and traveled a long way, and I thought these were disappearing, but in fact, every meal became a part of my body, and every stretch of road allowed me to accumulate experience. Then, every book you have read is the same, it will be revealed when we need it, and you will also find that the more books you read, the spirit is constantly becoming richer and richer, and the temperament is also getting better in silence.
Over the past year, reading has become a habit of mine, and I have shared many books I have read.
For example, Zhang Jiajia's "There is a Commissary by the Clouds", Maugham's "The Moon and Sixpence", "Veil", etc., there will be many readers in the background to exchange these books with me, and let me recommend them.
So, I'll share with you four books that I think will help me a lot in 2021.
01, Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
What is your understanding of love? If you can't give an answer, then I suggest you read Pride and Prejudice, which may give you the answer you want.
In the book, many characters are portrayed, such as Elizabeth and Darcy, Jane and Bentley, Bennet and his wife, Coslin and Charlotte, etc., through whom we can see many different views of love and marriage.
Just like Elizabeth and Darcy, although there is a gap in their identities, they are spiritually equal, Elizabeth dares to show her truest side in front of others, will not easily change her opinion, but more to maintain self and pursue happiness.
Although Darcy seems arrogant and not good at expressing, but his mind is very delicate, he is willing to make changes for Elizabeth, even if he does not like Elizabeth's family, he will choose to accept her, and will constantly change his attitude and live in harmony with the people around him.
In the end, Elizabeth let go of her prejudice against him and looked at Darcy with a new eye.
Similarly, just like Jane and Bentley in the book, they are in love at first sight, from the attraction of mutual temperament; the Bennets, married for many years, seem to be real but divorced, the reason is that they did not understand before marriage and then found that each other is not suitable for each other; and then Coslyn and Charlotte, the marriage between them does not have any feelings, more like a transaction, a figure of status and a figure of money.
Therefore, I think the biggest charm of this book is that it allows us to think about love and marriage, and warns women, whether in love or in marriage, they should always keep themselves and not be ideologically attached to others, even the person closest to them.
02, Keigo Higashino, "Relief Grocery Store"
Regarding the book "Relief Grocery Store", it should be the book I wrote the most opinions in 2021, mainly because I think this book is very healing and resonates with people's hearts.
There are five stories told in total, each simple but so similar to our lives.
Love, dreams, family affection, redemption, etc. are all told in the book, and what moved me most in the book was the story between the musician Krone and his father.
When we were young, we always felt that our families could not understand their own ideas, as if their lives were arranged by them, and so was Krone, whose father wanted to return home to inherit the ancestral fishing shop after he graduated from college, but Krone always wanted to be an original musician.
So he hid his family from dropping out of college to pursue his dreams, and his parents knew that after arriving overnight to educate him fiercely, after a night of sleeplessness, his parents returned home.
Krone was out on his own, but the reality was far less easy than imagined, and in the mud of life, he could not walk at all, could not see any hope, and finally because of the family affairs, he chose to go home and see his father again.
As his father's health deteriorated, Krone began to waver, wanting to give up his dream and follow his father's arrangement, so he sent a letter to the grocery store, and after getting an answer, he and his father explained their thoughts.
But he did not think, but his father was angry again, only this time for him not to persist, perhaps, at the moment they chose to go home, in fact, in the heart already supported Krone to chase his dreams, he hoped that Krone could see the world he had never seen before.
With the encouragement of his father, Krone chose to continue his musical path, and although he could not realize his dream in the end, the dream blossomed and got the reality in another way.
The writing is very delicate and close to our lives.
Similarly, there is one character that I think is also well portrayed, that is, Grandpa Langya, and the relief grocery store is the shop he runs.
At first, only some children would come to consult some simple questions, but later, more and more people sent letters, and Grandpa Langya would always reply very carefully, telling them the answer in his heart, in his opinion:
03, Called Husseini,"The Kite Chaser"
We all feel that time is the best healer and will make us forget a lot of sadness in the past.
But there's a point in the book that:
It is true that many times we think that we have forgotten a lot of things, but in fact, they are still potential, they will appear inadvertently or sketch people's memories in a familiar scene.
"The Kite Chaser" is mainly about friendship and the redemption of a person's own heart.
The protagonist is named Amir, and the other is Hassan, and they are the master-servant relationship, Amir was born as a young master of a rich family, and Hassan was born without being treated well because of his mother's status.
Despite this, Hassan is still trying to live, the young master Amir as his all, as long as amir wants, Hassan will find ways to help him achieve, and amir to participate in the kite chasing competition, when the victory is achieved, the kite is left behind, and he offers to pick up the kite for him.
Even if he was bullied by others in the alley, he still had to bring the kite back to Amir.
And Amir? He was cowardly, timid, and unsympathetic, and even if he saw Hassan hurt and humble for him, he did not dare to help him, and even finally framed Hassan and drove him out of his home for the guilt in his heart.
This means that he will not be truly relieved all his life, and hassan will eventually die to protect Amir, so when he learns that Hassan and he are half-brothers, the fear is even deeper.
Fortunately, Amir finally chose to face his heart and redeemed the past.
The phrase "for you, a thousand times" runs through Hassan's friendship with Amir.
The most touching thing about this book is that Hassan's sincerity in his friendship, he gave everything he had in order to fulfill his promise to Amir, but when he looked at it from another perspective, Hassan was an "unintelligent" person who gave too much and eventually made himself extremely humble in the relationship.
It will also make us think deeper about friendship, and Amir's redemption tells us that the mistakes made by people ultimately need to be made up by themselves, and the more they want to forget, the more difficult it is to forget, facing their own hearts and making choices can be truly redeemed.
Friendship should be equal, and cherish everyone who is good to you, after all, they could have chosen not to do so.
04, Antoni de Saint-Exupéry, "The Little Prince"
"The Little Prince" is a fairy tale book, a fairy tale that is very suitable for adults.
In the book, the most important character is the little prince, who originally lived on a small planet and watched the sunrise and sunset every day, and the appearance of a rose made him a planet with color.
So he cherished the rose very much and would shield it from the wind and rain, but the rose's mannerisms made the little prince feel tired, and even made the little prince feel that the rose was very powerful and did not need himself at all.
In this way, the little prince chose to leave his own planet and wander on other planets, although roses had to keep, but it was too late to stop the little prince's determination to leave.
After leaving his planet, the little prince meets a self-righteous king, a vain man, an alcoholic who keeps drinking to forget his shame, a businessman who has been counting, a lamplighter who keeps lighting the lights, and a geographer who knows theory but never practices it.
Finally he came to Earth and met some roses, foxes, narrators, etc. in the garden.
At first he was disappointed to see the roses in the garden, because he thought that his rose had deceived him, that it was not the only rose in the world, but fortunately the fox told the little prince a word for "domestication", that is, to make a connection.
Once the connection between each other is established, it has long become different for both parties, and this difference is in the mind.
This also laid the groundwork for the little prince to want the narrator to draw a sheep to bring himself back to the planet, because the little prince understood that the rose was irreplaceable in his heart.
Perhaps, people always have to go through some things to really grow, will understand how to love, many times, what we are pursuing, or what we want, is worth our good thinking.
Similarly, at the end of the story, although the little prince decided to return to his own planet, he chose to let the poisonous snake bite himself, so whether he returned to the rose or not, we do not know.
It also warns us that once many things happen, there is no chance to start again, and many people who leave may not come back, and only cherish it when they have it.
It is inevitable that everyone will become an adult, but we can choose to let ourselves live in a child's heart, maintain that childlike heart, do not forget the original intention, and love life and enjoy life.
