It is worth noting that the name of "lychee slave" is one of them, which represents the degree of understanding of the ancients for the longan, because it grows in the same place as the lychee, but both the block and the flesh are inferior to the lychee, plus the ripening time is later than the lychee, so the ancients usually put the longan core directly into the classification of the lychee, and call it lychee slave, sub-lychee, fine lychee... In short, it is not as good as the meaning of lychee.

There are many people who like to eat longan, but there are not many people who are also interested in the longan nucleus.

After eating the pulp, spitting out the core, the silky operation of the assembly line, so that people basically will not notice the black and black round as if the eyeballs of the oily core, sometimes even if you notice it, it will only be because such a large core is too obstructive, plain and white occupies so much of the pulp, if there is no core, the thick and juicy longan is so refreshing to eat!

However, in fact, the longan nucleus is not as big as white, and in the field of Chinese medicine, the longan nucleus has always had many wonderful uses.

If you want to talk about the longan core, then you have to make up the longan lesson in advance.

Longan is a native plant in China, dating back to more than two thousand years of history, the earliest planted in the south of China, the specific location is still difficult to determine, but scholars at home and abroad generally believe that the origin of longan is in China's Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Hainan and Yunnan areas, are typical of the southern provinces, the reason is also very simple, first, researchers in this area found the existence of wild longan communities, on the other hand, is the ancient chinese ancient books have a lot of records of this.

If you are looking for the name "Dragon's Eye" directly in ancient books, it is estimated that the harvest will not be very large, because there are too many aliases in history, such as the "Dragon's Eye" in the "Materia Medica", and the "Compendium of Materia Medica" calls it "Dragon Eye", at this time, if you look at the "Bencao Tujing" you will find that there is also the name of "Wooden Bullet" on it.

As for others such as Li Zhu, Swallow Egg, Lychee Nu, etc., there are simply countless, according to Qiu Wuling's quotation from Li Shizhen in the "Compendium of Materia Medica", the reason why it is now called Longan is in line with the saying "The Eye of the Dragon's Eye, the Shape of the Dragon's Eye", which is essentially named by shape, but no one has ever seen what the dragon looks like, so why the dragon's eye is like the dragon's eye is unknown.

In the "Southern Grass and Trees", it is recorded: "However, the lychee is familiar to the dragon's eye, so it is called the lychee slave, and the words often follow it." Ji Han did not directly look down on the taste of the dragon's eye, but explained that calling it a lychee slave was only because it matured more slowly than the lychee.

But some people in the back do not give face, such as Kangxi, who has tasted it and then waved a large stroke, writing in the "Yangjiang County Chronicle": "Round eyes, sweet taste, incense slightly inferior to Li, the old people called Li Nu, and after it Li and cooked it." ", when it really didn't look at the face of the dragon's eye at all.

The "Dragon's Eye Spectrum" is even more excessive, writing: "The fruit spectrum contains lychees with forest birds as brothers, pomegranates as brothers, longan as slaves, cover green lychees ripen first, and longan followed, and constantly ripe in the early autumn clouds." Moreover, because its color and fragrance are not as good as lychees, it is called slavery. ”

The face of the dragon's eye is green, Kangxi is also counted, a layman, and then say that people are emperors, the dragon's eye dares to be angry and dare not speak, but what is the "Dragon's Eye Spectrum"?

You know, ancient China can hardly find a monograph on longan, to find longan can only be mixed in various classics to find, the Qing Dynasty Zhao Gu wrote the "Dragon's Eye Spectrum" is considered to be unique, equivalent to the autobiography of Longan, in the autobiography it says so... Its longan also wants face!

Of course, this view is not shared by everyone, for example, the "Book of Wang Zhennong" written by Wang Zhen in the Yuan Dynasty praises the dragon's eye: "Fu Longan and lychee are equally famous, the taste is also very beautiful, dengpan sister and full of tribute, called the edict of Wei Wen, swimming in the endowment of Zuo Si, and the fruit of the fan is comparable." ”

The Book of the Later Han Dynasty also records: "The dragon's eye sees zhen, and it has been since the Han Dynasty." It is said that since the beginning of the Han Dynasty, longan has been used as a tribute for the emperor to enjoy.

It can be seen that ancient China actually began to eat longan very early, in 111 BC, when Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty attacked South Vietnam, when he built the Fuli Palace to widely plant exotic flowers and plants in the south, longan and lychee were transplanted as treasures in the Fuli Palace, which was the earliest attempt to transplant tropical fruit trees such as longan to the northwest.

As for the results of natural evolution in other places, it is naturally slower, but it is not much slower, according to Zuo Si's record in the "Shu Du Fu", "the side is standing on the dragon eye, and the side is born with lychee." Cloth green leaves of the leaf, the separation of the zhushi. In the middle of winter without withering, Chang Yeye is a "monkey" Point of view, the cultivation of longan in Sichuan has a history of at least 1500 years.

Foreign countries that have a certain amount of longan cultivation are transmitted from China, such as the British H.F Macmillan's "Handbook of Tropical Horticultural Plants" wrote: "Longan and lychee were introduced to India from China in 1978."

There is a buddhist story that says that there was a poor old woman who could not read and wrote, who made a living as a domestic worker, and once went to a new employer's house to serve a young grandmother, and the young grandmother believed in Buddhism, and recited the Sutra in the ashram every day.

When the old woman saw that the hostess was so devout and recited the Buddha, she naturally felt envious, and she also wanted to learn the hostess to read the Buddhist scriptures, but she could not read herself, so she begged the hostess to teach it.

The hostess refused, because the Buddhist scriptures were profound, she could not understand the true meaning, coupled with the feeling that the old woman was old, stupid and stupid, not a piece of learning material, so she said that she could not teach.

The old woman again begged the mistress to teach her, just by teaching a few simple words and letting her read them.

The hostess told her that the chanting could not be so casual, that it was necessary to bathe and burn incense, that sincerity was effective, that she was dirty and disrespectful, and that even if she read it, it would be useless.

The old woman still pleaded, hoping that the mistress would teach it, even if it was a good word.

The hostess was annoyed by her, so she asked her which sentence she wanted to learn, and the old woman said that she would learn the one that the hostess usually read most often.

On weekdays, the hostess chanted the Great Compassion Mantra from the beginning of "Nan Wu Drink La Na Dorae Ye", but she thought that even if she taught the old woman, she would not be able to learn it, so she taught the old woman to read: "Nan Wu Lychee Dragon Eye Core." ”

The old woman prayed very religiously every day, and one day, her son encountered a storm on a voyage, the ship sank, and out of nowhere came a large number of lychees and longan nuclei, piled up into rafts, and saved her son's life.

When the son returned, he told his mother about this, and the old woman repeatedly sighed, it is really a bodhisattva blessing, and she reads this sentence every day.
