Recently, two communities in Dongtai City successfully completed the work of naming and renaming place names, and achieved zero clearance of "foreign" place names in our city. First, the original "French Town" community was officially named "West Sea Huating", and the second was that the original "British Metropolis" community was renamed "Shuyuan Famous Artist".
Last year, the Department of Civil Affairs of Jiangsu Province, the Department of Public Security of Jiangsu Province, the Department of Natural Resources of Jiangsu Province, the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Jiangsu Province, the Department of Transportation of Jiangsu Province, and the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Jiangsu Province jointly issued a document to issue the Notice on Jointly Doing a Good Job in Cleaning Up and Rectifying Irregular Geographical Names and Promoting the Use of Standard Geographical Names to promote the purification of the geographical name environment and the use of standard geographical names.
Dongtai City actively carried out the "war of annihilation" of "foreign" place names in accordance with the requirements of the superiors.
The first is to achieve "one person and one policy", communicate with the developers (operators) of the two communities through the way of "interview + consultation", explain the legal provisions, give guidance according to the different situations faced by the two communities, and assist in the work;
The second is to ensure "respect for public opinion", on the basis of ensuring the legal compliance of the newly declared names of the community, carry out the collection of opinions on the names of the community, and the names such as "Xihai Huating" and "Shuyuan Famous Artist" are provided by residents and recognized by most owners.
The third is to promote the implementation in place, on December 14, 2021, the city officially approved the official name of the original "French Town" community as "West Sea Huating", the original "British City" community was renamed "Shuyuan Famous Artist", and on December 29, 2021, the two communities have completed the name change and setting work.
