The Municipal Women's Federation suggested that family education is related to the healthy growth of minors, and parents should conscientiously study the Family Education Promotion Law, be a qualified parent under the guidance of the law, and scientifically guide and educate their children.
Parents are responsible for family education
The family is the first school in life, and parents are the first teachers of children, but in recent years, family education has exposed a series of outstanding problems. According to the ACWF Family Education Survey, 50% of parents do not know how to educate their children. Most parents have different degrees of parenting anxiety, pay too much attention to their children's learning, and lack the cultivation of children's ideological character, behavior habits, and labor, sports and other abilities.
The Law on the Promotion of Family Education clearly states that the parents or other guardians of minors are responsible for carrying out family education. At the same time, the law also clearly points out that family education refers to the cultivation, guidance and influence of parents or other guardians on minors' moral character, physical fitness, life skills, cultural accomplishment, behavior and habits in order to promote their comprehensive and healthy growth. Family education should take the cultivation of virtue as the fundamental task.
Parents teach what and how to teach
Many parents are very confused, what should be taught to children in family education, how to teach? There is also a specific response in the Family Education Promotion Act.
In the family, parents should cultivate their children's feelings of home and country, good moral character, help children establish a correct concept of becoming a talent, guide them to cultivate a wide range of interests and hobbies, healthy aesthetic pursuits and good learning habits, enhance the spirit of scientific exploration, sense of innovation and ability; ensure that children are nutritionally balanced, scientific exercise, adequate sleep, physical and mental pleasure, develop good living habits and behavior habits, and promote healthy physical and mental development; pay attention to children's mental health, enhance self-protection awareness and ability: teach children to cherish life, carry out transportation, Healthy Internet access and safety knowledge education in anti-bullying, drowning prevention, fraud prevention, anti-trafficking, anti-sexual assault and other aspects, help children master safety knowledge and skills, enhance the awareness and ability of self-protection; help children establish a correct concept of labor, develop excellent character of hard-working and good habits of loving labor.
In the implementation of family education for children, parents should pay attention to the physical, psychological and intellectual development of their children, it is best to raise their children personally and strengthen parent-child companionship; parents should participate together and play the role of both sides; integrate education and guidance into daily life, and teach by example. Parents should not be too spoiled for their children, or too strict with their children, should be strict and kind, respect their children, communicate on an equal footing, and parents should also learn and progress and grow up with their children.
In the process of children's growth, parents inevitably encounter some difficulties in family education and do not know how to deal with them. Parents can obtain family education guidance through different channels, types and contents in communities, streets, civil affairs, women's federations, schools, family education guidance agencies, etc. In addition, parents can learn more about family education and parent-child relationship through some online learning platforms, receive family education guidance, and apply it to education and guidance of children.
Lack of family education will be responsible
It is also necessary to remind that parents or other guardians must not discriminate against minors on the basis of gender, physical condition, intelligence, etc., must not carry out domestic violence, and must not coerce, induce, instigate, connivance, or use minors to engage in activities that violate laws, regulations, and social morality. Where parents or other guardians commit domestic violence against minors in the course of family education, legal responsibility will be pursued in accordance with relevant legal provisions. If family education is absent, parents or other guardians will be criticized, discouraged, and, if necessary, received guidance on family education. Parents who are separated, divorced, or entrusted with others to take care of them must also perform family education duties in accordance with law.
