Gerald Green was unable to join the Rockets this season but still has a chance to join other teams

According to The Athletic reporter Shams Charania, former Rockets player Gerald Green officially joined the Rockets' development league team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

According to Rockets reporter David Weiner, Green is not eligible to return to the Rockets this season due to salary cap circumvention rules and the fact that he is already on the team's payroll as a player development coach.

But Green can still join other teams except the Rockets.

Green announced his retirement from the NBA last October and joined the Rockets coaching staff as a player development coach, and on Jan. 7 he chose to make a comeback.
