Barcelona player Coutinho is expected to return to the Premier League on loan at the winter transfer window to join Aston Villa on loan.

Coutinho, 29, will play on loan to Villa in January until the end of the season if all goes well. Under the contract, Aston Villa will pay Coutinho most of his salary.

Coutinho chose Aston Villa because of Gerald. The two worked together at Anfield for two and a half seasons.

A lot of teams in Europe are looking to get Coutinho, Arsenal and Newcastle are considered Premier League teams interested in this player. Ultimately, the player's relationship with Gerrard had an impact.

If the deal goes well, Coutinho could work with former Liverpool team-mate Gerrard again, this time as a player and coach.

In January 2018, Barcelona signed Coutinho for £142 million. But the player at Camp Nou did not replicate his fiery form at Liverpool.

Subsequently, Coutinho was loaned to play for Bayern Munich. In the Bundesliga, Coutinho, along with Bayern, won the Champions League.
