To be precise, it is not Grindelwald itself, but the huge snow-capped peaks near the village. The village is located in the Bernese Alps, under a mammoth-like rock wall, and it is known as the north side of Eiger.

Have you heard of Tikal? This site has great historical value, and the reason is because of the Mayans here. Yes, Tikal was a city of the Mayan civilization that reached its peak between 200 and 900 AD. If you're traveling to Guatemala, the ruins are not to be missed.
The ruins show the remains of the stunning Tika Temple, which claims to be 154 feet high. In the Star Wars universe, the Millennium Falcon passed through these ruins when it landed on a rebel base in the jungle of Yawen.

From mysterious ruins in the tropics to icy glaciers, Star Wars movies use a wide variety of scenes, even glaciers!
This is the Hadange Glacier, which can be found near the mountain village of Finse, Norway. In the 1980 film Empire Strikes Back, the glacier appeared in the Battle of Hoth. The battle is legendary, with the Imperial Walkers appearing for the first time in the photo.

The Ewuks are probably the cutest creatures in the entire Star Wars universe. I mean, no one would be unhappy when the Iwoks showed up, it was as cute as a teddy bear. Every fan knows they live on the Endor Forest Satellite.
But what they don't usually know is that Endor, home of the Ewuks, was filmed in Del Norte County, California. Just by looking at that magical landscape, the director definitely chose a great place that looked just like the fairy tale creature I was expecting to appear!

But del Norte County's forests aren't the only places in California used to shoot Star Wars movies. Another western location is Death Valley. Wondering where this fascinating multicolored canyon appeared?
In A New Hope, released in 1977, rocky landforms were seen, where sand and Jawa were hanged.
20, Matmata, Tunisia (Matmata, Tunisia)
Tunisia has appeared more than once in Star Wars. What you see in this picture is the Sidi Driss hotel, which can be found in the town of Matimata. The town is very small (no more than 2200 people live there) and its structure is also very rare.
The village is famous for its underground houses, which were built by digging large pits. These were later converted into rooms and connected by different passages. This place is dedicated to show that Luke Skywalker was raised by his aunt Bailey and uncle Owen.

As we mentioned before, Tunisia was used to shoot multiple scenes from multiple films. In fact, the first two trilogies were filmed all over Tunisia. It feels like it's really a star wars fan's paradise!
In this photo, you can see Onk Jemal, a favorite of tourists of all kinds. However, Onk Jemal is also home to the town of Mos espa on Tatooine. If you're not familiar with the name, remember that Moss Espa is the home of Anakin Skywalker.
