Billy Barron helped Zenit beat the old star Red Star to win the UEFA League MVP

In the 18th round of the UEFA Europa League, Zenit visited Belgrade and challenged Red Star. Facing a full-court tight defense from the Red Star, Zenit fell behind by nine points at one point in the fourth quarter. However, Billy Barron and Jordan Lloyd were unyielding in the face of the old masters, the former scoring 25 points, the latter scoring eight points at a crucial moment, helping Zenit beat his opponents 80-76 through overtime to remain in fourth place in the table.

After the game began, Hollins scored nine straight points to help Red Star establish an eight-point lead (18-10) in the 6th minute. However, Zenit quickly overtook the score (21-29) with efficient shooting (5-of-6 from two-point range and 6-of-10 from three-point range). After the start of the second quarter, Barron performed well, scoring 14 points in total to help Zenit continue to lead. However, their as many as 11 turnovers allowed Walters and Hollins to score a combined 28 points, leaving Zenit only two points (42-44) to enter the halftime break.

After the start of the third quarter, Red Star sacrificed the victory - the whole game pressed the defense, so that the opponent scored only 6 points in the whole quarter, and also sent four turnovers, red star regained the lead (57-50). In the fourth quarter, Zenit started with a 9-9 trail (59-50), but Frankamp and Lloyd stepped up and they hit consecutive key three-pointers to help Zenit equalize (69-69). After the game was dragged into extra time, Red Star's physical strength declined, his shooting percentage fell, and Zenit relied on Lloyd's consecutive scores to finally reverse and defeat his opponent.

In this game, Zenit had 43 rebounds (27 against the opponent) and shot a staggering 62% (2 points) and 41% (3 points) from the field. On the Red Star side, although the full-court defense has achieved results, the physical exertion is too large, and they can't hold out to the end. In the end, Zenit won, and Billy Barron was awarded the title of most valuable player in the UEFA Round.
