According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle are interested in Lille defender Botman, quoting 30 million euros.
Newcastle is stepping up negotiations with Lille on a transfer to Botman, with the 21-year-old Dutch defender currently linked to a number of clubs in Europe. Botman has already expressed a willingness to come to Newcastle, but the success of the transfer will largely depend on Lille's willingness to release people in the winter window.
Milan are currently looking for a replacement for Kyal, so the Rossoneri are also interested in Botman, but Lille's asking price makes it difficult for the two sides to reach a deal.
Newcastle is eager to see strengthening the defense as a priority for the team, and Bothman meets the requirements of manager Eddie Howe, who has always wanted a young, dominant defender who is confident in possession.
Newcastle intends to offer 30 million euros for The Boltman transfer, and Lille is asking for around 30 million euros for the player.
So far this season, 21-year-old centre-back Boltman has made 16 appearances in all competitions, scoring 1 goal and having 1 assist. The player is currently worth €30 million in Germany.
