With a brand new trophy, welcome the restart of the World Youth Championships

Jiang Rongzhong, former President of the BWF and President of the World Youth Cultural Foundation, presented the BWF with five brand new Eye Level trophies that will be awarded to the winners of the 2022 World Junior Championships.

As The BWF's Honorary Vice President for Life, Jiang Rongzhong first presented the Eye Level trophy in 2011 as part of his support for youth badminton.

The 2022 BWF World Junior Championships will be held next October in Huelva, Spain.

Mixed Team Competition – 2022, October 17 to October 22

Educational/Cultural Events – October 23, 2022

Individual Events – 24 October to 30 October 2022

This will be the first World Junior Championship to be held after 2019. Previously, due to the global spread of COVID-19, the World Youth Championships scheduled to be held in New Zealand in 2020 were cancelled, and the 2021 World Youth Championships were cancelled because it could not host any events in China this year.

At first, the BWF decided to postpone the 2021 youth event, hoping to reschedule it for the end of 2021 or early 2022, but travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the safety of young players made it difficult to hold the event.

The BWF is confident in the 2022 World Youth Championships and hopes that the Junior Tour will resume on a large scale in the first quarter of 2022.

The BWF thanks Jiang Rongzhong for his continuous contribution to the sport of badminton.
