My hometown is in Qingcaowei, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province, located on the east side of the shore of Changsha Bay, surrounded by mountains and seas, and the folk customs are simple. Every year when winter comes, you can catch fat and crisp Tatsushu oysters in the surrounding area.
I think it is a very fortunate thing to have the opportunity to create art and have the opportunity to build a studio in my hometown that is close to nature. At the beginning of the construction of the studio, the design concept and construction plan to coexist in harmony with the natural environment were determined, including the use and protection of one sand and one stone, one grass and one tree.
There are often herds of egrets and wild ducks perched here; there are patches of casuarina, mangroves, and some unnamed aquatic plants. Under the balcony, you can feel the tide rising and falling.
At that time to build this studio, oyster shell as the first choice for decorative materials for the exterior wall, the texture of the case has an artistic personality, because we are close to the sea, at that time with the haiqian residence to name this studio, my father knew that I used the haiqianju as the name of this studio, especially happy, for the haiqianju inscription.
In this studio, I often have the opportunity to contact my childhood friends, go to the sea with them, put a net, step on the earth, these happy times of begging for the sea, often inspire me to create art. Art comes from life, and these are relatively rare opportunities to experience life.
Many famous calligraphers and painters often come here to create, come here to sketch, it is worth our pleasure that their arrival, for the cultural atmosphere of our hometown, including the creation of the entire artistic atmosphere, has received good help, in the process of such a visit, but also let me meet many new friends, those who live in the city, when I have the opportunity to live here for a period of time, obviously feel that the natural environment here is particularly good. I also want to use such a platform to promote the improvement of cultural and artistic literacy in our hometown, to create a creative station with more cultural and artistic characteristics.
