Bojun Automobile started late, but one of the main investors, Shanghai Sizhi Automotive Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., was established in 2008, before which it was mainly engaged in automotive engineering and vehicle development, chassis platform design and development, chassis tuning, vehicle performance development and adjustment and other engineering technical support.
It can be said that Bo County Automobile is not a small white in the new forces of car manufacturing, claiming to be a company with core technology.
According to Huang Ximing, president of Bojun New Energy Vehicle, the company has key technologies such as mastering the independent pure electric chassis platform, the internationally integrated three-electric system, the advanced lightweight process and the intelligent driving system solution. For the way to build cars, Bo county automobile announced that it will not take the OEM model and insist on its own research and development and production.
Shortly after the establishment of Bojun Automobile, it announced in a high-profile manner that it would invest 10 billion yuan to build a pure electric vehicle manufacturing base in Nanjing. After that, Bojun Automobile began to expand the model, respectively, Si xun new energy settled in Huai'an High-tech Zone, with a total investment of about 5 billion yuan, and built a new production base of Bojun Automobile in Lingang Industrial Zone, with a total investment scale of about 3.5 billion yuan.
Undoubtedly, investing in and building factories in many places is bound to consume a lot of money, and the financial shortcomings of Bo County Automobile have also begun to appear. Bo County Motors once claimed to have experienced 6 rounds of financing, but the availability of funds has been kept secret. It is well documented that in June 2019, in addition to the 2.5 billion yuan invested by Pukou High-tech Investment, Yuanxing Investment, Yin'an Capital, etc., the specific financing amount of the remaining five times has not been disclosed.
On the eve of the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, Bojun Automobile carried out the brand strategy release, and the bojun iV6 and Bojun iV7 SUVs also made their debuts, and officially released the three native electric vehicle platforms of i-SP, i-MP and i-LP. The first mass-produced SUV Bojun iV6 debuted, with a pre-price of 250,000-350,000 yuan. Under the comprehensive working conditions of NEDC, the cruising range is more than 600 kilometers, and the Bo county iV6 is expected to be put into production at the end of 2019 and delivered in the first quarter of 2020.
The limelight is on the rise. In May, Bojun Automobile announced that it would cooperate with FAW Xiali to establish a new energy vehicle joint venture to produce and sell new energy vehicles, thus solving the problem of Bojun Automobile's new energy vehicle production qualification. According to the agreement, Bojun Automobile shall pay the initial investment of 1 billion yuan to the joint venture company in a monetary manner within 30 days from the date of establishment of the joint venture company and obtain the business license, and the first car iV6 will be put into operation here.
On November 18, 2019, the two sides established Tianjin Bojun Company. In January 2020, Nanjing Bojun paid only 14.1 million yuan to Tianjin Bojun, which is far from the initial payment of 1 billion yuan promised in the agreement.
However, after Bojun Company announced that it would take over FAW Xiali, the situation was not optimistic, and it did not pay FAW Xiali as scheduled, and has been plagued by controversial news such as layoffs and wage arrears.
With the rise of new car-making forces such as Wei Xiaoli, Bojun Automobile has been ignored. Returning to the public vision again, Bo County Automobile has been filed for bankruptcy reorganization. Holding a good card, Bo County Automobile broke itself, and after bankruptcy and reorganization, the future direction of Bo County Automobile became a mystery.
