The water quality of Zhangxizhuang Village in Shunyi, Beijing is yellow and black

Health Times reporter Wang Zhenya

Recently, a number of villagers in Zhangxizhuang Village, Shunyi District, Beijing, told the Health Times reporter that the drinking water at home was often stopped, and the water quality was yellow and black, and they did not dare to drink. On December 25, a health times reporter came to Zhang Xizhuang Village, Shunyi District, Beijing, and found that many residents frequently stopped water in their homes, and once the water was stopped, the water released was turbid and accompanied by yellow impurities.

Zhangxizhuang water quality situation

The water quality is poor, and the safety of drinking water is worrying

"See how this water is used?" On November 5, Zhang Dong (pseudonym), a villager in Zhangxizhuang Village in Beijing's Shunyi District, posted a message in the village's WeChat group, accompanied by a video of the water outlet of his own water pipe. The video shows yellowing water flowing out of the pipes, and the water in the basin is like muddy water.

In fact, this is not the first time that villagers have reflected the problem of poor water quality, many villagers told the Health Times reporter that the water quality of Zhang Xizhuang Village has always been like this, the water is yellow, when it is serious, it is black, and it has not been solved for many years.

Zhangxizhuang Village is located in Gaoliying Town, Shunyi District, Beijing, and there are about 6,000 people living in the village. To this day, the village's drinking water is still self-prepared well water, rather than tap water supplied by the collective water plant.

"The drinking water that the whole village drinks comes from deep well water drilled in the village." Uncle Zhang, 70, told the Health Times that the village's self-prepared wells were probably drilled in the last century, and they have been drinking well water for decades.

"The village often stops the water, and after the water is stopped, the water that comes out of the water is yellow soup, the water quality is not good, and there are many impurities." Uncle Zhang's wife also told the Health Times reporter that well water is usually used for cooking, washing vegetables and drinking water. Usually, the water is connected to the large tank, and the impurities in the water are precipitated to the bottom of the cylinder before it can be used.

Xu Li (pseudonym), a commissary in Zhangxizhuang Village, told reporters, "We moved in later, we have been in this village for more than 3 years, and the water in the village has been yellow like that." After each water stop, the yellow water of an open water pipe is particularly obvious. We didn't dare to drink, we drank water and ate in bottles. ”

"Eating bottled water every day is a bit high at a monthly cost." Between bottled water and well water, some villagers chose to install filters at home, filtering the water in the pipes before drinking. Zhang Dong's mother told the Health Times reporter that after installing the filter, the water quality at home is much better, not so yellow, and can be used.

Expert advice: water quality testing in the village

Zhao Feihong, president of the Healthy Drinking Water Professional Committee of the Beijing Health Protection Association, told the Health Times reporter that if the water quality is yellow and black, I am afraid that even the basic drinking water safety cannot be guaranteed. The emphasis on water safety should be the same as the height of food safety. According to the World Health Organization, 80 to 90 percent of diseases are related to contaminated drinking water.

China's current "Drinking Water Sanitation Standards" (GB 5749-2006) has strict health requirements for the quality of drinking water, including 1. Good sensory traits: transparent, colorless, no odor and odor, no visible to the naked eye; 2. Epidemiologically safe: does not contain pathogenic microorganisms and parasitic eggs; 3. Chemical composition is harmless to people: the chemical substances contained in water do not cause acute poisoning, chronic poisoning and long-term harm to the human body.

"In order to solve the problem of drinking water safety in rural areas of our country, in some villages with poor water quality, China implements centralized water supply." Zhao Feihong said that there are fewer villages like villages that still use their own wells.

Zhao Feihong believes that the yellowing and blackened water seen must not be drunk, and after precipitation or filtering, seemingly clean water is not necessarily safe. If the whole village is like this, there are two possibilities, one is that the water itself is polluted, and the second is that there is a problem with the pipeline.

How can villagers drink safe and clean water? Zhao Feihong suggested that the village committee ask the relevant departments to conduct water quality testing on the outlet of the self-prepared well. Then go to the villager's home tap to do another water quality test, compare the water quality of the two places, and you can know where the problem is.

Sun Fengying, legal department of the Health Commission of Shunyi District, Beijing, suggested that when there is an abnormal situation in drinking water, it should immediately call the 12320 hotline to report the situation to the local health department. If you accidentally drink contaminated water, you should pay close attention to whether there is any discomfort in your body, and if there is an abnormality, you should immediately go to the hospital for medical treatment.

The village branch secretary responded: Next year, the spring well water will be changed to tap water

"Actively promote the transformation of rural drinking water safety to rural water supply security, and organize the safety assessment of important drinking water sources in the country." This is one of the key points of the patriotic health campaign carried out throughout the country this year.

"The well drilled in our village is a 300-meter deep well, and the water comes from deep groundwater, and the water quality is no problem." Zhang Xuege, secretary of the village party committee of Zhang Xizhuang Village, introduced to the Health Times reporter, but because the water supply pipe in the village has fallen into disrepair, there may be something in the pipeline, once the water is stopped and the water is returned, the impurities in the pipeline will be washed out, and the water will be clean after a while.

Why is there always a water outage in the village? Zhang Xuege introduced that in the past two years, the village has been carrying out rain and sewage diversion projects, and the engineering team often cuts out the water pipes and pipes, and it is easy to stop the water as soon as the construction is carried out. At present, the rainwater and sewage diversion project has just been carried out in the middle of the project, and it is expected that it will be a year and a half before it is completed.

For the water quality problem, Zhang Xuege told the Health Times reporter that every year, relevant departments come to the village to test, and the well water is up to standard. "In the spring of next year, we will start to change the water project, the well water will be changed to tap water, and the village is the municipal collective water supply, and there will be no such problem."
