Sources told MLSSoccer that some clubs are interested in former Philadelphia League player and current U.S. midfielder Brandon Aronson, and Leeds United is one of them.

As previously reported, Milan and Leipzig are still chasing the current Red Bull Salzburg player Aronson. Salzburg will face Bayern in the Champions League round of 16 and the chances of players moving away this winter are very slim, with Aronson being one of Salzburg's most important players.

Leeds United played a full-court pressing style under Bielsa, including former New York star Jack Harrison. Leipzig was previously coached by The American and former Salzburg boss Jesse Mahi, but he parted ways with Leipzig in early December. Milan are currently second in Serie A. It would also be good for Salzburg for Aronson to stay a little longer, as he joined Salzburg in January last year for an initial transfer fee of $6.5 million, which could reach $9 million. Sources say that if Aronson stays in Salzburg until next summer, almost 100% of the bonus clauses in the transfer contract will take effect. The Philadelphia Union will receive a 10-20 percent share of the transfer fee for Aronson's second transfer.

The 21-year-old Aronson has been a key player for salzburg and the U.S. national team. This year, he started in all six Champions League games and two qualifying matches, contributing two goals and one assist and helping Salzburg qualify. This season, he scored a goal in 16 league games and contributed five assists to help Salzburg top the Austrian League and lead by 14 points.

Since joining Salzburg, Aronson has been an indispensable player. He made 51 appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and assisting 12 times. He made 15 appearances for the U.S. national team. Aronson made his Major League debut in Philadelphia in 2019 and performed well in 2020, helping the team win their first trophy, the Supporters' Shield. That year, he was also named the Best Eleven in Major League Soccer.
