Hello everyone! Today to introduce to you, the Tang Dynasty cultural relics "Sancai Town Tomb Beast", 80.5 cm high and 26 cm wide.

The town tomb beast has double curved horns on the top of its head, a vicious face, round eyes, and a wide mouth, revealing fangs. The shoulders are decorated with wings, and the surface of the wings is decorated with a negative line pattern. The body is in a squatting position, stepping down on the mountain-shaped base. The whole body is glazed with green, white and brown, and the glaze color is bright and lustrous.

The Town Tomb Beast is a monster set up in the tomb room to deter ghosts and protect the souls of the dead.

From archaeological excavations, it can be seen that the zhen tomb beast was first seen in the Warring States Chu tomb, and was popular from the Wei and Jin dynasties to the Sui and Tang dynasties.

In the Sui and Tang dynasties, the town tomb beasts were generally set in front of the tomb door, one person face, one animal face, left and right opposite.
