The four sides of the ground floor are like city walls, granite veneers, and eight stone carving group paintings are embedded on them, namely: Lu Lu Jiandu, Xuxi Canal, Wuyue Contending for Hegemony, Striving for Excellence, Yue Wang Xianmei, Mu Sai Yu Du, Guan Wa Leaving the Palace, and Flourishing and Declining, which fully interprets the vast historical chapter of Wu Yue Spring and Autumn.
In 492 BC, Wu Wang Fuchai relied on Wu Zixu's strategy to defeat the Yue state. Since then, King Wu has been overwhelmed, arrogant and lustful, and used the national people's strength to build palaces and terraces. Gusutai was built in eight years, and at this point the people's strength was exhausted, and the people did not have a good life. Just as Wu Wang Fuchai was at his leisure, in 475-473 BC, Yue Wang Gou Jian spent three years to destroy the State of Wu, and the majestic Gu Sutai was burned to the ground and became a ruin.
The side of Gusutai is densely forested, and from time to time there are a few small squirrels playing and jumping among the branches.
Hollow below the base of the Gusu terrace is an exhibition hall. The current museum is decorated with the "Mudu Town History Museum". Text and pictures introduce the history of Mudu, tourist attractions, and today's development. Above the pedestal is a large platform surrounded by granite railings. There is a tall pavilion built in the middle of the platform, which is very imposing. There are stone steps on both sides of the ground floor, and visitors can climb the second-floor observation deck to view the Lingyan Mountain Scenic Area and mudu ancient town in the distance.
