Kawasuji Yukio of Mt. Ryūzō

author:If and a contract

Good brothers and veterans have been accompanied by international friends for many years, preaching and solving puzzles, and tirelessly being engineers of foreigners' thoughts and souls. Today he contributed to me a strange story told by a Japanese friend, which is very interesting, and the record is as follows.

Legend has it that in the Area of Edoyuki, Hokkaido, near Mt. Rakshu, there lives a monster named Kawasuji Yukio. This monster lives in the deep mountains and old forests all year round, and can be transformed into any image it has ever seen, so its true face of Lushan is unknown.

Legend has it that when food is scarce in the snow in the harsh winter, the snow man of Kawaji will sneak into the village at the foot of the mountain, transform into the husband of the woman in the village, cheat on eating and drinking, and by the way, do things with women and men, and return after exhaustion.

Ruozi lives in a small village at the foot of Luozhou Mountain, and her husband Masao has been doing business outside the country for many years. Late at night when the snow was falling, Masao suddenly returned home, and Wakako asked him what had happened, but Masao was drunk and his speech was out of sync, and he turned over and said the word "hungry" with his fingers. Wakoko hurriedly cooked and prepared a large table of delicious dishes. It was as if Masao hadn't eaten for several days, and the wind swept away the clouds. After putting down the bowl and resting for a while, he hugged Ruozi and went straight to the bed, and the clouds and rain did not stop all night, and it was only when Ruozi was tired and slept in the morning. When he woke up, Masao was no longer at home, and although Ruozi was surprised, he did not think deeply about it, thinking that Masao had gone out to do business again.

Half a month later, Masao returned home, and when Ruozi asked about the snow night, Masao was completely unaware of it, insisting that he had been away from home for nearly three months and had not returned halfway. The old people in the village all said that Ruozi must have met the Kawaji Snow Man, and the demon turned into a male form to deceive food and deceive. For a moment, the young female relatives in the village were all in danger, and they were terrified.

Junlan's husband Junjun of the same village died unexpectedly last year, and he and Junlan have known each other since childhood, bamboo horses and green plums, so Junlan has been grief-stricken and deeply confused. After hearing about Kawaji Yukio, Junlan hung the portrait of her husband on the door every day, and cooked delicious food at night, often preparing aged wine for several days. One night, Kawaji Snow Man arrived, transformed into the image of Junlan Fujun and ate and was lucky. At the end of the matter, Junlan tearfully said to Chuanji Xuenan: "I know that you are a monster, but I have been widowed for more than a year, and my grief will not heal." And you have become his form and have kept up with me, to comfort me in the pain of lovesickness. I will also be good at wine and food. ”

Since then, Kawaji Snow Man has lived in the Junlan family for a long time, becoming her husband every day, and living a home life with her as an ordinary couple. Over the years, the white colt has crossed the gap, and Junlan is already a chicken skin crane with an old dragon clock. One morning, looking for the Snow Man of Chuanji, Junlan knew that the time was short, and went out in his clothes, facing the Luozhou Mountain in the distance, to thank the snow man for decades. The next morning, Junlan died.

The legend of Kawasuji Yukio has been passed down to this day, and when the snow closes the mountain, local women buy various servant paintings (ukiyo-e paintings with the theme of Kabuki actors in the Edo period) or samurai paintings and paste them on the door. At this point in the story, the old way of evil charm smiled, and the words suddenly turned:

"You must think that these women are trying to scare Kawasuji Yukio into leaving?" This is not the case. They just feel pity, since you can become any image, why do you insist on becoming your husband? The painting of a servant or a samurai at the door is a reference for the snow man. ”

I see! Color-eating nature is also, the master is in the folk, and the wisdom is also in the folk...
