Shangguan Ding

Shangguanding is a pen name collectively created by the three brothers Liu Zhaoquan, Liu Zhaoxuan, and Liu Zhaokai, which means the three-legged Dingli of the Tang Dynasty; and Liu Zhaoxuan is actually the main author. Liu Zhaoxuan was born in 1918 in Hengyang, Hunan Province; graduated from the Department of Chemistry of National Taiwan University and received a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Toronto, Canada. He was the vice chairman of the National Science Committee of the Executive Yuan, the president of Tsinghua University in Taiwan, and the "Minister of Transportation" in 2993.

According to Lin Huifeng's interview article "A Martial Arts Relationship of Liu Zhaoxuan", the reason why Liu Shi became associated with martial arts novels when he was in high school was because Gu Long wrote the book "Sword Poison Meixiang" for some reason, and a certain publishing house rushed to recruit "Kuaishou" to continue writing; the three Liu brothers were itchy for a while, and "Solitaire" was successful, but under the pen name of "Shangguan Ding" (see Central Daily, Taipei, July 23, 1987).

However, according to Liu Zhaoxuan's personal revision of the "Chronology of Shangguanding's Creation", his debut work was "Traces of Luye" (1959), which was one year earlier than the ghostwriting of "Sword Poison Meixiang". However, the book has long been obliterated and does not exist.

His representative works include "Iron Riding Order", "Legend of the Beacon Plains Hero", "Seven Steps gange", "Heroic Bone Pass", "Shensha Valley" and so on. Among them, "Shensha Valley" became a hit, when he was only eighteen years old
