Let the cultural relics speak: The Chu lacquerware "Character Carriage and Horse Travel Map" reproduces the royal family's travels

My name is Lacquer Painting: "Figures On Carriage and Horse Travel". The picture vividly depicts the life scene of the unity of heaven and man: the geese flying in the sky, the swaying willow branches, the galloping carriage, the flying retinue, the jumping dog, with black paint as the base, with vermilion, ripe brown, emerald green, yellow, white and other colors, with the technique of flat painting, line drawing and checking, depicting the life scene of the royal nobles to welcome their relatives. It is the earliest existing long-scroll "Custom Comic Strip" in China, which reflects the superb production process of Chu lacquerware.

Actually, I am a 28 cm diameter circular lacquer (tone: even) lid circumference. Archaeologists took me off the lacquer to show my beauty! What is lacquer? Lacquer is a dressing box for ancient women to hold grates and fat powder.

I was excavated in 1987 in Hubei Jingmen Baoshan No. 2 Chu Tomb, my body is a kind of lacquerware, called the clamp ramie tire, later also known as "birth", silk is sackcloth. The method is to make an inner tube of wood or mud, and then use several layers of mounting paste such as sackcloth coated with paint ash, and after drying, remove the inner tube, and finally paint on the sackcloth shell. This lightweight carcass first appeared in the Warring States, the Qin Dynasty was still rare, and gradually became popular after the middle of the Two Han Dynasties, becoming the most popular method of fetal production. Traces of ramie can be seen on the picture.

I took it off the lacquer and unfolded it 87.4 centimeters in length and 5.2 centimeters in width to become a picture scroll. In the painting, colors such as earth yellow, orange red, sea blue and brown are used to outline a picture with bright colors, vivid and lively, and full of three-dimensional sense between the square inches. It is comparable to the style of the works of modern world masters such as Picasso.

The painter ingeniously uses five willow trees swaying with the wind to skillfully divide the picture into five paragraphs, each paragraph is painted separately, such as travel, greeting, dialogue and other plots, relatively independent and coherent, constituting a complete time series, adapting to the appreciation process of the horizontal picture, the audience's viewpoint is translated horizontally, and the complex character activities are explained in a fairly concise way.

In order to clearly show the picture, I will be segmented as follows: Although the height of the picture is only 5.2 centimeters, the technique is relatively clumsy, but the characters in the picture have complex and diverse dynamics, with different identities and different looks, all of which can be accurately expressed. Now that I have participated in the selection of the top ten town hall treasures of the Hubei Provincial Museum, I have time to vote for me!
