Beijing News (Reporter Li Yan) On July 28, the official unit of the 77th Venice Film Festival was announced, and the main competition unit gathered new works by directors such as Andrei Koncharovsky, Amos Gite, Gian Franco Rossi, Anderson Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Among them, 10 of the 18 films in the main competition of the unit are directed by female directors.

Among the Chinese directors' lineup, Zhao Ting's "No Place" was shortlisted for the main competition, Xu Anhua's "First Burning Incense" was shortlisted for the non-competition unit, and young director Wang Jing's "More Than Endless" was shortlisted for the horizon unit.

Directed by Zhao Ting and starring Francis McDormand (wife of the famous American director Joel Cohen), "The Land of No One" tells the story of a woman in her 60s who lost everything in the Great Depression and began a journey through the American West as a modern nomad living in a van. And Zhao Ting is also the director of Marvel's upcoming movie "Eternals".
"More Than Ever" is produced by Jia Zhangke, directed by young mainland director Wang Jing, and starring Bai Ke, Miao Miao, Zhang Songwen and Song Yang. Inspired by real-life stories, the film focuses on the inner world of small people in the context of 2003 North Drift, presenting the real dilemmas that everyone will encounter.

Directed by Xu Anhua and adapted from Zhang Ailing's novel, "The First Burning Incense" tells the story of schoolgirl Ge Weilong and playboy Qiao Qiqiao, starring Ma Sichun, Yu Feihong, Peng Yuyan, Zhang Junning and so on. In addition, director Xu Anhua also won the Venice Lifetime Achievement Award, becoming the first female director in the world to receive this award.
It is reported that this year's Venice Film Festival will be held from September 2 to September 12.
