PARIS, Dec. 24 (Lujia) -- A shipment of milk from the French brand "J'aime le lait d'ici" containing residues of cleaning compounds has been recalled.
According to the Parisian newspaper, the French Sodiaal Dairy Cooperative Group (Sodiaal) announced on the 23rd that it recalled 18312 batches of "J'aime le lait d'ici" brand boxed semi-skim milk because it contained cleaning product residues. The product in question is under the hygienic number FR 44-025-001, the shelf life is until March 8, 2019, and the production time is from 8:40 to 11:54.
Sodia said it was a pollution notice from dairy producer Orlait and launched a recall. The accident, which involved human error, lasted about two minutes on the production line and has not yet been reported as a consumer case.
Sodia, a leading French dairy company with around 9,000 employees and a turnover of 5.1 billion euros last year, comprises many well-known dairy brands such as Candia, Entremont, Le Rustique, Cœur de Lion, RichesMonts, Régilait, Yoplait and many other well-known dairy brands. The "J'aime le lait d'ici" brand is owned by Orlait, of which Candia is the controlling shareholder. In 2014, the Group expanded its business into the field of pastry and frozen products.
In recent years, french dairy pollution incidents have affected many brands. A year ago, Lactalis Group closed its factory in Craon and recalled all baby milk produced at the plant, the industry's famous Salmonella contamination scandal.
