In terms of TV drama ratings, SBS's two new dramas "Defendant" and "Shi Rentang: Diary of Light" show completely opposite trends. "Shi Rentang: The Diary of Light" starred Li Ying'ai and tells the story of the famous female calligrapher, writer and poet "Shen Shi Rentang" played by her. When the first episode of the show aired on January 26, the ratings were as high as 13.9%, but from the six episodes currently broadcast, its ratings showed a significant downward trend, with the ratings of the second episode to the latest episode being 11.8%, 10.6%, 10.2%, 8.6%, and 8.7%, respectively.
The ratings of "Defendant" increased alternately, with the first six episodes ratings being 11.9%, 12.9%, 12.8%, 14.8%, 14.2% and 15.3% respectively. The drama revolves around prosecutor Park Jeong-woo (Ji Sung), telling the story of him after being wrongfully killed by his wife and daughter, and after losing his short memory, he cleared his suspicions.
In addition, MBC's new drama "Reverse Thief: The Thief Who Stole the People", which began airing on January 30, also performed well, with ratings gradually climbing from 8.3% of the first episode, and the fourth episode aired on February 7 has reached 11.4%.
