The book has 12 open, a total of 250,000 words, more than 1,000 pictures, set up a general description and match industry, cigarette industry, sauce garden industry, fruit industry, oil pressing industry, dye industry, soap industry, battery industry, bakelite industry, bristle industry, egg processing industry, printing industry, iron industry, cotton textile industry, cotton knitting industry, hemp textile industry, machine flour processing industry, electricity industry, weights and measures manufacturing industry 19 industries, each industry set up a review and representative business situation, a total of 216 old business names are described in detail. Recreate the grand industrial development of Jining city under the influence of canal culture from the late Qing Dynasty to the 1950s and 1960s.
As an important commercial city on the bank of the Grand Canal, Jining has prospered in industry and commerce since the Ming and Qing dynasties and even in modern times, with many industries and large and small business names, forming a distinctive industrial and commercial culture, which is the most significant symbol of Jining as the capital of the canal. The book is detailed in historical materials, illustrated and rich in text, and for the first time comprehensively and systematically records the development history of the industry and commerce of Laojining, just like a vivid animation of the industrial and commercial industry of Laojining, and many materials fill the historical gap and enrich the cultural research of the Jining Canal.
