Carson Palmer has a new replacement.
According to multiple media reports, Blaine Gabbert will sign a 1-year salary contract with the Cardinals.
In 2011, the Jaguars, hoping to find a quarterback, selected Gabert with the No. 10 pick. Gabert then let them down for three years and ran to San Francisco to hold the 49ers back for three years. He will now compete for the bench with Drew Stanton and Zac Dysert.
Gabert, 27, started five games for the 49ers last year, scoring five touchdowns and six interceptions.
