Recently, the famous football data website "Transfer Market" took stock of the 10 stars who have lifted the most trophies in the 21st century. In the list, Brazil's legendary right-back Alves topped the list with 41 trophies and is the "harvester of honor" in football. The 2-4 places are Iniesta (39 crowns), Messi (37 crowns) and Maxwell (37 crowns). The specifics are shown at the end of the article.

Among the large number of European superstars in this issue, there is also a humble name that has aroused my interest and attention - he is Hawthorne Ashur from Egypt. The African legend has won as many as 34 championship trophies in his career, which not only put him at No. 6 in the list, but even one more than "Portugal's King" Cristiano Ronaldo and "Swedish Tower" Ibrahimovic. He was also one of the top 10 players in the round – the only player from Africa. He is the "dark horse" player in this issue's list.
So, who is this "dark horse of Egypt"? Why was he able to overpower a group of African legends and become the only African player on the list?
Hossam Ashour was born on March 9, 1986 in Cairo, Egypt. He is 175cm tall, weighs 62kg, and plays a defensive back.
In his career, Ashur is debuting in the youth system of the Egyptian domestic Banba Cairo Nationals. As early as February 13, 2004, in an Egyptian Super League match, Ashur, who was only 17 years old, 11 months and 4 days old, successfully made his league debut for the team. He is also the 5th youngest player to make his debut in The Nationals history. At that time, China's top leagues had even just transitioned from A A to the Chinese Super League.
In the 16 years since, Ashur has played an astonishing 480 games for the Cairo nationals! This not only put him ahead of the team's all-time appearances list (Fathey in second place only had 343 games), but he also used his 17 seasons of perseverance and dedication to silently compose a loyal story of "one person, one city" on the distant African continent. As the Egyptian league and even the panpower team in all of Africa, the Cairo Nationals have also repaid Ashur's loyalty with dozens of trophies.
During his 16 years playing for the Egyptian capital team, Ashur won a total of as many as 34 trophies. The specific list is as follows:
● Egyptian Premier League Champion (12 seats) ● Egyptian Cup Champion (3 seats) ● Egyptian Super Cup (8 seats) ● African Champions Cup (5 seats) ● African Super Cup (5 seats) ● Confederations Of Africa Cup (1 seat)
And although Ashur's career has long been able to be counted as an honor, but in his "tenure", his home team Cairo Nationals really have a few percent of the combat strength - this matter may need to play a big question mark.
Take the results of the Nationals in the Club World Cup, in the process of 5 battles, the team's best result is only the 3rd place at the end of 2007, and it has never even reached the final of the Club World Cup. In the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup at the end of 2013, the team lost two goals to Axon and Conca, and was eventually eliminated by AFC Champions League champions Guangzhou Evergrande with a score of 0-2.
So while the Egyptian legend can match or even surpass European historic superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic in terms of the number of trophies, his trophy is gold-rich – obviously difficult to compare with the stars mentioned above.
Unfortunately, despite his "super long standby" attribute and his ability to occupy a place in the Squad of Egypt's Banba for 16 years, Ashur's national team career has always been difficult to enter the eyes of successive managers.
In his career, although he made his debut for the Egyptian national team in a friendly match with Sudan as early as 2008, so far, he has only played for "Pharaoh" in only 14 matches. Of these 14 matches, only 3 were official matches... In the 21st century, the glorious story of the Egyptian national team's three summits to the African Cup of Nations failed to leave his name.
Another unfortunate thing: in June this year, after the expiration of his contract with the team, Ashur left the Cairo Nationals as a free agent and is still in free status. But after 16 years of military service, the Egyptian legend has long since merged with the team's emblem and history.
He is the eternal symbol and legend of the National Team.
