In May 1988, at noon on the 22nd, Che Mengyi and his comrades-in-arms went to the street to run errands, and found that there were five young people on the sidewalk gambling, they immediately stepped forward to stop it, and the five gangsters not only did not listen to the advice, but pulled out the spring knife hidden on their bodies and surrounded Che Mengyi and another comrade-in-arms. Che Mengyi's brother Che Mengren told reporters, "His leg artery was stabbed by gangsters and daggers, and he did not save himself at that time, so he ran and chased, according to the saying at the time, he chased 117 meters." ”
More than 100 meters long on the sidewalk, the blood spilled by the hero was left behind. Later, although rescued by the General Hospital of the Guangzhou Military Region of the People's Liberation Army, Che Mengyi finally suffered from excessive bleeding and ineffective rescue, and died honorably at 10:20 that night.
When Che Mengyi was sacrificed, Liu Cuiyu was already 54 years old, and the pain of losing his son did not make this mother, who was more than half a hundred years old, fall, but resolutely sent his third son Che Mengli to the army and took his brother's gun. After Che Mengli arrived at the army, he was active and willing to work, and was soon sent to the Armed Police Command College for further study, and after graduation, he served as a platoon cadre, however, the unfortunate news came again, on October 23, 1994, che Mengli was posthumously recognized as a revolutionary martyr because of his sacrifice in the line of duty during the training of the leading troops.
