There are still 4 days to go before the 2019 Kazakhstan presidential election. Earlier, on May 29, presidential candidates from various parties had held a televised debate at the Kazakh Media Center. Representatives of the 4 presidential candidates and 3 presidential candidates made a successful argument in the televised debate, expressing their views on the problems facing Kazakhstan today and the future direction of Kazakhstan, and expressing their political views in the debate.
The presidential election with the largest number of candidates
According to the Kazakhstan branch of the Russian Satellite News Agency, seven candidates will participate in the Kazakh presidential election on June 9, the largest number of candidates in several presidential elections held since independence. And the election was the only one so far without the participation of the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Nazarbayev has been leading Kazakhstan since its independence in 1991, making Kazakhstan, which was just in ruins at the time of independence, tremendously developed and become the best among the Countries of Central Asia. Moreover, his "balanced diplomacy" strategy allows Kazakhstan to maintain good relations with the United States, Russia, China and other major forces in the international community.
On February 21 of this year, Nazarbayev decided to sign a presidential decree to dissolve the government after criticizing its poor performance in improving the country's economic structure and raising the living standards of the people. On March 19, Nazarbayev announced a "blockbuster news" to the people of the country through a televised speech: he would resign as president of Kazakhstan. The functions of State Leader of Kazakhstan are performed by the Speaker of the Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament, Hasmu-Dolmart Tokayev. A day later, Tokayev was formally sworn in as president at the plenary session of the Kazakh parliament.
What "cards" are played by each candidate?
The person who is considered the most promising president in this election is the current President Tokayev. Participating in the presidential election, he said he would inherit and continue the approach left over from the Nazarbayev era and strive to make Kazakhstan's national strength grow day by day. His policy will focus on five areas: providing quality education for young people; expanding employment opportunities in all directions; guaranteeing housing; effectively improving the living standards of every family; and valuing the contribution of every citizen to society.
The "Bright Path" Democratic party candidate Dania Yespayeva's political advocacy focuses on three main areas: market competition and the expansion of the number of enterprises; maintaining the independence of the country; and fighting corruption and maintaining national stability. Jespayeva is Kazakhstan's first female candidate since independence. In an interview with reporters, she mentioned the voices within the party opposing her candidacy, "Which stimulated me, and I decided to use the facts to let people see that women are also capable of reaching the top of power." Yespaeva said it strengthened her confidence in running.
The communist People's Party candidate, Jambul Akhme particularlykov, was primarily concerned with how to get rid of the influence exerted by the West on Kazakhstan and get rid of their hypocritical values; to bring all oligarchs in exile to court; to fight poverty; and to economic integration with neighboring countries and to rationally tax.
Tolyute Rahhmbekov of the "Awul" People's Democratic Party has set his sights more on the issue of rural development, and his slogans include "Solving the problem of uneven urban and rural development provides the possibility of solving most of The social problems of Kazakhstan", "Upholding and developing Kazakh traditional culture and customs is the premise of the country's self-confident development", and "The participation of young people in the political management of the countryside is an effective means to make the countryside prosperous".
The trade union confederation candidate, Amangrad Tasbikhov, as a candidate sent by the trade unions, focused more on improving the welfare of workers: strengthening supervision of black-hearted employers and guaranteeing the basic rights of workers; ensuring the safety of the working environment; guaranteeing workers' incomes; and regulating labor migration.
The slogans put forward by amirjan Kasanov, the candidate of the "Destiny of the Nation", are: guarantee political freedom; guarantee national identity; put "independence" into action; eliminate corruption; develop a "civilized" and "popular" economy; and the common development of all regions is the development of the whole country.
The campaign project of Sadibek Tugele, the candidate of the Great Prairie Eagle Public Culture Association, mainly mentioned the following points: holding a referendum after taking office to introduce a new constitution, and adopting an electoral system for local administrators at all levels; abolishing the privileges and immunities of officials and parliamentarians; providing opportunities for self-recommendation to those who wish to run for election; reviving the traditional Kazakh court system and strengthening sentencing standards for certain crimes; restoring the death penalty system; and nationalizing Kazakh assets outside Kazakhstan Double subsidies are paid to mothers raising multiple children; and annual additional subsidies are provided to each Kazakh from the profits earned from the sale of natural resources.
According to the Kazakhstan branch of the Russian Satellite News Agency, the candidate's campaign can be held until June 7. June 8 is a "quiet day" and all candidates are not allowed to hold any more campaigns. The elections began at 7 a.m. on June 9 and lasted until 8 p.m. that day. A total of 9,970 polling points will be held in Kazakhstan (48 of which will open at 6 a.m.), and 65 polling points will be opened in 51 countries outside Kazakhstan for simultaneous voting. Preliminary election results will be made public on 10 or 11 June, while official results will be made available within 10 days.
