Zhongxin Network, Daxinganling, Inner Mongolia, June 5 Title: "Post-00s" Firefighters in the Depths of Daxing'anling: From Forest Guards to Anti-epidemic Fighters
China News Network reporter Zhang Wei
"My hometown is in Huanggang, Hubei Province, and I went home in 2019 to catch up with the epidemic for the New Year, and I couldn't go back to the army to do anti-epidemic volunteers." On the 5th, the reporter met Cai Hao, a "post-00s" firefighter who was praised by the instructor of the Qiqian Forest Fire Squadron, and his tone was so calm that it did not match the childish appearance.
Cai Hao joined the army in 2016 and came to Qiqian, but he is not very old but he is a veteran of the team. To the reporter's surprise, he chose to stay because he liked the mountains here.
Surrounded by mountains on three sides, surrounded by water on one side, and no one is seen in a hundred miles, the Qiqian Squadron of the Daxinganling Detachment of the Inner Mongolia Forest Fire Brigade independently undertakes the strategic outpost task of protecting the 947,000 hectares of forest in the northern primitive forest area of Daxing'anling, and this fire brigade is also known as the "Forest Guardian of Northern Xinjiang".
The commanders and fighters of the Qiqian Squadron are all of excellent quality, and they have been evaluated by people: "No matter what kind of people arrive in the Qiqian Squadron, within 3 months, they will have a plank." The new crown epidemic has made this "post-00s" who have a "board and a model" verify this sentence.
At the end of 2019, Cai Hao was approved to take a month of annual leave to go home and reunite with his parents for the New Year, but he did not expect the outbreak of the new crown epidemic in Hubei, the national fight against the epidemic, and Cai Hao's Spring Festival was also "sparse".
"On the first day of the Chinese New Year, the teammates who took annual leave were recalled, and because my family is from Hubei, they are temporarily on standby." Cai Hao recalled, "In this case, I couldn't sit still at home. There was a card station at the entrance of the village, so I went there to help. ”
As a veteran of the rescue team, "going up when there is difficulty" and "where need to 'move'" seems to have become Cai Hao's "subconscious". The epidemic is getting worse and worse every day, and after communicating with the leaders, Cai Hao packed his bags and marched towards the "epicenter" of Wuhan.
"There is not a single person or a car on the street, and it is eerily quieter than we are." When he first arrived in Wuhan, Cai Hao did not have time to be afraid, and after emergency protection training, he joined the anti-epidemic team, "At that time, it was divided into two teams, urban fire fighting and forest firefighting, the urban fire brigade was responsible for the support of front-line units such as hospitals, and the forest fire brigade I was in was responsible for peripheral assistance." ”
"At the beginning, the main work was to carry supplies for patients in the cabin hospital and 'feed' the residents of various communities." Cai Hao can't remember how many neighborhoods to run every day, how many trips to and from the car, but he clearly remembers the warmth of a glass of water.
Cai Hao recalled: "We sent daily necessities to residents, and we could only go to the door of the community, at that time in Wuhan, when we saw people wearing protective clothing, we would subconsciously keep a distance, and we were also worried that we would be infected with the virus to infect them, so we could only put down our things and leave." However, one day, the staff on duty at the entrance of the community deliberately found a few cups and poured hot water and handed them to us, which made me very touched and warm. ”
From the end of February to the middle of April, carrying, "feeding", disinfection, taking care of patients who must continue to be isolated and observed after being cured and discharged from the hospital, escorting medical team members... After Cai Hao "worked" in Wuhan for a month and a half, Wuhan was unsealed and the epidemic was under control.
Due to Cai Hao's outstanding performance in the frontline of the fight against the epidemic, he was approved to join the party in the line of fire.
Looking back now, Cai Hao said that the epidemic will still make him more afraid than the fire. "After all, we are professional in lighting the fire, we don't know about the epidemic, it is uncontrollable, and the only way is to do a good job of protection."
And his fear is more about the fear that if he is infected, he will inadvertently infect others. "We are saving people, and we can't let ourselves become a burden on others."
Nowadays, Cai Hao is in the team to learn to repair generators and burn boilers with his master, and he has also learned to drive armored vehicles from armored car veterans for more than ten years. He said: "I don't want to leave here yet, and I won't say until the squadron doesn't want me." (End)
