A 23-year-old female police officer belonging to the Police of the Province of Buenos Aires was arrested by the police after robbing a supermarket with two accomplices, and before her arrest she tried to escape in a vehicle while her two-year-old son was in the car.

The incident, which took place on Saturday night in the city of Chacabuco and belonging to Rawson, Buenos Aires province, was arrested on the same day as two accomplices, including the policewoman.

After receiving the 911 police call, the local police rushed to the scene of the crime, when they found two men preparing to enter the car, while a woman and her son were waiting in the car. After a loud warning from the police, the criminals opened fire to attack the police.

Unable to escape by car, they began to flee in different directions, but were still found and arrested by the police. The policewoman has been fired from the Internal Affairs Discipline Division of the Ministry of Security and is also suspected of another robbery in a neighbouring area.

She was also arrested by Ricardo Antonio Coquiz, 48, who owns a .38-caliber revolver, and Daniel Oscar Reynaldo, 47, who owns a 9mm Glock pistol.

Police also seized two bags of stolen goods, including 84,492 pesos in cash, $24, 2,000 guarani (Paraguayan currency), 1,000 Chilean pesos, 50 Mexican pesos and 5,200 Uruguayan pesos, as well as three mobile phones, 20 dried sausages, a cheese, 360 packs of cigarettes, medicines, batteries, lighters, etc.

Led by Pedro Illanes, a prosecutor at the local Third Prosecutor's Office, local police investigated the three men's possession of illegal weapons and ammunition and charged them with crimes such as robbery with guns, unlawful deprivation of liberty and injury.
