In order to further improve the level of pathological standardization detection in Shandong, Henan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, Xinjiang and other provinces, more patients can ultimately benefit from personalized medical treatment. On November 7, 2020, the "Belt and Road" Pathology Quality Control Alliance Expert Reading Meeting was successfully held in the Department of Pathology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University.

The "Belt and Road" Pathology Quality Control Alliance Project is a quality control and academic education platform jointly built by the pathology quality control centers of henan, Shandong, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and xinjiang in the central and western regions of Xinjiang, aiming to promote quality control cooperation and academic exchanges between pathology laboratories in medical institutions in Shanhe and Northwest China, so that standardized quality control experience can be more shared, more pathologists can pass on cutting-edge tumor marker information, and academic sparks have more opportunities to collide.
The "Belt and Road" Pathology Quality Control Alliance adopts the method of taking turns to host every year, hosted by the Pathology Department of Henan Provincial People's Hospital in 2019, and held by the Pathology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University this year. This activity began to design the entire quality control project in May and June this year, and the kick-off meeting was held on July 2, 49 units in seven provinces adopted the online + offline method. From July to September, the Department of Pathology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University prepared quality control standards and carried out ringstudy verification, and issued quality control standards to 48 units in seven provinces on September 2, and collected the quality control results of each unit on October 19.
It is reported that there were 15 foreign experts who participated in the reading, namely: Kong Lingfei, director of the Pathology Department of Henan Provincial People's Hospital, Liu Bin, director of the Pathology Department of the 940 Hospital of the People's Liberation Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Sun Zhenzhu, director of the Pathology Department of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region People's Hospital, Zhang Yiqing, director of the Pathology Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University, Han Enshan, director of the Pathology Department of the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University, and Xia Qingxin of Henan Provincial Cancer Hospital.
There are 7 units in Xinjiang, 9 in Shaanxi, 8 in Lanzhou, 7 in Ningxia, 2 in Qinghai, 9 in Shandong, and 7 in Henan, for a total of 49 units. As of 10.19, 43 units participated in HE slice staining, 46 units participated in breast cancer & gastric cancer HER2 quality control, 23 units participated in the IHC (Ventana D5F3) platform, 16 units participated in the PCR platform, and 12 units participated in the FISH platform, involving many quality control projects and covering a wide range of hospitals, so quality control experts in various provinces attach great importance to this reading activity.
At the meeting, Zhang Guanjun, director of the Department of Pathology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University and director of the Shaanxi Provincial Pathology Quality Control Center, introduced the three quality control projects of conventional paraffin embedded HE slice staining, breast cancer & gastric cancer HER2 quality control, and lung cancer ALK IHC/FISH/PCR multi-platform quality control. He pointed out that the "Belt and Road" Pathology Quality Control Alliance, as an effective supplement to the national pathology quality control, will effectively improve the level of pathological quality control in Shandong, Henan and northwest provinces, and provide a "gold standard" for diagnosis.
