According to the Russian Satellite News Agency reported on the 6th, the police in the Indian state of Punjab said that they arrested two Indian soldiers. The two soldiers were accused of "espionage", providing classified documents to Pakistan's Islamic Services Intelligence Service (ISI). Police said Tuesday that defendants Seboy Hapruit Singh and Seboy Gebkh Singh shared photos of at least 900 confidential documents with Pakistani operatives.

Punjab Police Chief Dinkar Gupta said law enforcement had found "confidential documents related to the operation and deployment of the Indian army" on the body of cross-border drug smuggler Ranville Singh while investigating a drug case.
"Ranville lured Haprett into sharing classified documents related to India's defense with money, and then Hapract induced his comrade-in-arms Gebuhe to spy together," Dinkar Gupta said.
These classified documents containing strategic and tactical information related to the Indian Army were accessed by Gebkh during his tenure at the headquarters of the Kargil Infantry Brigade.
Police said the two soldiers had been providing classified documents to Pakistan's Islamic Services Intelligence Agency (ISI) for four months from February to May 2021.
In 2019, dozens of Indian Army and Air Force personnel were arrested for providing confidential information to Pakistani contacts. With espionage cases within the military growing exponentially, the Indian government has set up a cyber surveillance team within the army to monitor the use of social media by its personnel, especially on non-encrypted websites.
