Hong Kong, December 18 (China News Service) -- The inauguration ceremony and general meeting of the 8th Executive Board of the Hong Kong Association for the Promotion of Literature (hereinafter referred to as the "Association for the Promotion of Culture") was held in Hong Kong on December 18. It is reported that in the 36 years since its establishment, the Cultural Promotion Association has promoted and united hundreds of Hong Kong literary and art societies.
Founded in 1985, many backbones of the former Longxiang Literary Society have spawned many literary and art groups and publications, known as the "Longxiang Literary Phenomenon". The Association for the Promotion of Literature and its subsidiary Hong Kong Literature Newspaper have compiled or published more than 500 pure literary works and 11 large-scale series of books.

Yang Yong, President of Hong Kong Bauhinia Magazine, Lin Guangzhao, Vice Chairman of BOCI, Professor Shan Zhouyao of the University of Hong Kong, Professor Huang Kunyao of the University of Hong Kong, Li Youqi, a famous current affairs critic in Hong Kong, and Professor Tam Shing-chu of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, were the guests officiating guests. In her speech, Cai Lishuang, who has been re-elected president of the Council for the Promotion of Culture, said that under the leadership of Zhang Shijian, the founding president of the Council, the Council for the Promotion of Culture supports the prosperity and development of Hong Kong's literary cause. She encouraged everyone to take root in the fertile soil of Chinese culture, respect the predecessors, care for the future generations, unite new forces, continue to innovate, and work together to push the Cultural Promotion Association to a new height and create a beautiful landscape.

In summarizing the work of the Seventh Council, Pan Geng, vice president and chairman of the Council, said that in the past six years, the Association has strengthened literary contacts and exchanges with neighboring regions and consolidated friendship with Chinese poets at home and abroad. The Council also attaches great importance to holding cultural activities to stimulate and unite the feelings of home and country. Even during the severe period of "black riots" and chaos in Hong Kong, he did not shrink in discouragement, but on the contrary, he was more courageous to move forward.
Cai Yaoyang, executive chairman of the Cultural Promotion Association, said that colleagues in the cultural circles should take root in the fertile soil of the 5,000-year-old Huanghuang poetry country, work tirelessly to cultivate innovation, thrive, blossom and purify the soul. He hopes to work with everyone to promote literature and create more literary works.
Ji Di Majia, vice chairman of the China Writers Association, sent a congratulatory message to the conference: Thirty-six years of Hua Yong moving forward, the grand plan is boundless. He hoped that the Cultural Promotion Council would continue to hold high the banner of patriotism and love for Hong Kong and continue to develop forward. Yue Xuanyi, member of the 16th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and major general of the People's Liberation Army, Professor Xie Mian of Peking University, Gao Jingde of the Hong Kong Chinese Culture Association, and Zhang Shijian, founding president of the Association for the Promotion of Culture, also sent congratulatory messages.
On the same day, more than 130 colleagues from Hong Kong's cultural circles gathered together, and the members of the Cultural Promotion Association congratulated them at the conference by reciting original poems and singing original songs. (End)
