Who would have thought that Shaolin Jian was called a "garbage stream" a few years ago, and no one cared about it. Originally, the upper reaches of the Shaolin Stream passed through a natural village, where when the open garbage pond was not banned, the littered garbage fell with the stream, polluting the environment of the stream.
The transformation of Shaolin Stream should start from the construction of "beautiful villages" in Shaolin Village. Li Chunbing said that Shaolin Village mainly plays the "ecological card", implements the classification of dry and wet garbage, demolishes the dry toilets in the whole village, realizes the unified treatment of domestic sewage in the whole village, and finally rectifies the river in the village. The village also flowers, beautifies and greens the open space of the whole village according to local conditions.
In today's Shaolin Village, the stinking open garbage pond is gone, replaced by a uniform closed garbage can. The chaotic scene in front of the house and behind the house has also been renewed, and the whole village looks orderly.
The reporter noticed that plants such as golden needle flowers, wild blueberries, wild maple trees, and wild potatoes were planted on the side of the village road and the creek in Shaolin Village, and thousands of layered trees were planted on the barge of the river, sowing flower seeds and turning into a beautiful landscape belt. Shaolin Village is located in the west of Dongzhang Town, surrounded by green mountains and clear water, and is famous for cultural landscapes such as the Fuqing South Shaolin Temple. In the past, due to poverty and backwardness, the population outflow in the village was serious, the transportation was inconvenient, and few unfamiliar faces could not be seen all year round.
How to use the ecological environment of clear water and green mountains to attract tourists? Shaolin Village is surrounded by mountains, the mountain area is more than 11,000 mu, the ecological forest coverage rate reaches 100%, and there are countless towering ancient trees in the village, of which the number of Ke trees accounts for two-thirds. In the past two years, with its high "appearance" and unique cultural landscape, Shaolin Village has attracted many tourists to come for leisure and sightseeing. Relying on the unique advantages of ecological resources, the wild red mushrooms in Shaolin Village and ecological agricultural products such as loquat, navel orange, bayberry, persimmon and olive have become the "fragrant food" that tourists are scrambling to buy.
"In the past, fruits such as loquat and navel oranges had to go to the town area, and they did not sell for a few dollars, and the fruit trees gradually became abandoned. Nowadays, if you set up a fruit stall in front of your home, you can get a considerable income. Villager Chen Xianjiang said that since there have been more tourists outside, many villagers have regained the economy under the forest and re-tended fruit trees such as loquat and navel orange.
The arrival of tourists gave the villagers a sniff of business opportunities. Last year, Liu Youfu and many other villagers collectively established Fujian Forest Residence Development Co., Ltd., contracting 350 acres of abandoned fields in the village and planting ecological fruits such as blueberries, Taiwan grapefruit, and tree grapes.
"Now that there are more tourists and the popularity of the village is getting stronger, it is certainly right to plant fruit trees." Looking at the well-growing orchard, Liu Youfu is more confident in the future development of the orchard.
Li Chunbing said that Shaolin Village has enjoyed the benefits of green water and green mountains, and will continue to base itself on ecology, give full play to its own cultural heritage and historical resource advantages, and rely on the Fuqing South Shaolin Temple Scenic Area to promote the in-depth integration of tourism, culture and agriculture.
