In order to further facilitate the payment of vehicle use licence tax by the public, in line with the development of e-government of the SAR Government, the method of paying driving tax will be expanded, in addition to the existing government and bank service counters, self-service machines and the website of the Transportation Bureau, etc., the "My Vehicle" and "Driving Tax Payment Service" will be launched in "One Household Pass", where residents can bind their own vehicles in their personal capacity through the "One Household" function, and directly select their own vehicles to pay the driving tax within "One Household Pass". Alternatively, you can pay driving tax on vehicles in the name of others, and you can check the payment records and vehicle information at any time after completing the tax payment.
Ten thousand cars or unused
Starting on New Year's Day next year, more than 240,000 vehicles will not be required to post driving tax circles after paying driving tax.
Wu Huixian said that according to statistics, no more than 10,000 vehicles have not been able to bind "my vehicle" for the time being, due to the incorrect input of information, the registration procedures are in progress and the mismatch of the owner's information, etc. Residents can go to the relevant registration department to change the information to complete the binding procedures.
The government has expanded the method of paying driving tax, amended the law to eliminate the posting of traffic tax circles, coordinated with law enforcement agencies, did not hinder law enforcement, and data interconnection has made electronic services achieve real results. It is believed that the incentive to use electronic means to pay driving tax will be greatly increased next year, but it is not known how many people will use electronic means and "one household pass", and then statistics and optimization will be made.

Wu Huixian also pointed out that the connection between the vehicle registration data of the Legal Affairs Bureau and the Traffic Affairs Bureau will be opened up, and the services on vehicles will be extended one after another, including the introduction of the payment of traffic violation fines in the near future, and the electronicization of electronic driver's licenses, car insurance, traffic registration discounts, and car deeds is the work project plan for next year, and will be announced in due course.
Wu Lele, Director of the Organization and Information Department of the Transport Bureau, said that in the past, about 20% of the driving tax was paid electronically, because it was still necessary to receive paper driving tax circles, so many people preferred to pay in person at the counter, believing that the payment of driving tax by electronic means next year would be greatly increased, because there was no need to collect and post paper driving tax circles.
600 cars are not licensed each year
Leung Wah Chee, acting director of the Traffic Police Department of the Public Security Police Department, pointed out that in the past three years, the Public Security Police Department has found about 600 vehicles that have not paid the driving tax every year. The Bureau continued to check the registration status of vehicles in motion or parking through various patrols, and officers checked the status of vehicles through police mobile phones. If a police officer finds a vehicle (traffic or parking) on a public road that has not paid the driving tax, the authorities will seize the vehicle concerned and transfer the vehicle to the Traffic Authority for follow-up, and the owner of the vehicle will need to pay the tax, fine and related fees owed to the Traffic Authority to retrieve the vehicle.
